What CPU and GPU are you using? If Nvidia, Nvidia control panel, 3D, Power Management mode, change from adaptive to Max Performance. If your CPU has it, It is possible that due to system information (possible corruption) being provided the game may be picking up the built-in GPU.

Also, in the system's control panel, set Power Options to High Performance.

Also, your system settings are located in your Saved Games folder. System acct name, Saved Games, Mechwarrior Online, Profile, Pilot Name, and the file to rename (or delete) is attributes.xml. afaik, these folder stay even during uninstalls of the game.

You may need to do a complete uninstall of your GPU drivers via both control panel and DDU, reboot and do a clean install

Can confirm that if you use power saving mode with NVIDIA and Intel tech, FPS only will drop, not resolution. then again, I'm using a GTX 950M as an example so...

There may be some file corruption, and forcing Nvidia into Max performance may allow the game to see the Nvidia resolution settings, since it may be reading the built-in Intel/AMD GPU settings. There is some sort of issue based on his screenshots that something is not being read correctly. He may need to also reinstall his motherboard drivers.

most likely yes, considering how it is. again, maybe run a repair tool on MWO first to see if there's something wrong there. If not, then look into the built-in settings.

I saw your RAM count. almost 50%. that's probably not it, but it could be.

have you tried running the patch tool?

That's probably just chrome memory leaking again. I don't think it would work, steam has its own repair tool.

This may happen due to lack of video memory. Unfortunately I don't have an example now - all computers near me at my work support max resolutions in all pixel formats, but I've definitely seen computers, where max resolution isn't supported for some pixel formats. Also, unfortunately, but there are no utilities in Internet, that can do simple thing - give you list of all formats, supported by DXGI. That's why I've made my own. If you need it - provide some reliable file hosting of your choice (so you won't blame me for putting viruses into my programs) and I'll send it to you. You'll need to check, if max resolution is available for B8G8R8A8_UNORM pixel format, that is commonly used by all games. But I'm not sure, if MWO doesn't use some other one, like FLOAT one for example.

P.S. Also. Due to some reasons 60Hz frequency is hardcorded into MWO's DX11 support module. This may be the reason, why DX11 has so poor performance in MWO, lol. Simply cuz if swap chain settings don't match desktop ones - DXGI switches from flipping pages to copying them and this causes severe performance penalty. So, if your desktop uses some other frequency, some resolutions may be unavailable for MWO. Also, 60Hz in this mode may be unavailable on you monitor. Try switching your desktop mode to 60Hz one, try installing monitor drivers (may be it isn't being properly detected?) and try using DX9 instead of DX11 first.

P.P.S. Do you play in Fullscreen mode? If not, try doing it first.

Full screen just stretches everything and blurs texture to fit the screen. It is a 60hz monitor and I never had a problem with that either. Maybe I should use your program, but I am going to see where support leads me.

Did you delete the attribute.xml file? Open the new one with notepad once in game. Locate height/width and modify those to 1920x1080.

<Attr name="OptionCfg.r_Height" value="1080"/>
<Attr name="OptionCfg.r_Width" value="1920"/>

Another player had an issue with MWO recognizing that his monitor was capable of 1080p but he could only play in 720p. Ended up being another graphics? program that was hindering the issue. He found that out by doing a complete Windows wipe and adding one program after another, while starting up MWO.

Edit - Turn off/disable any overlays being used, such as TS, Steam, etc.

Update: I spoke to support and they sent me an attributes file and it seemed to have fixed it. So if anyone comes around with the same problem, that seems to be fix.

You can find the file in your user profiles. Or

C:\Users\User\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles\ProfileName
