It's not as important as mechpacks, so there is no need to make a big deal about it.

Town halls get announcements in the forums once the dates are finalized. Just an off handed "townhall sometime this month" doesn't really need a full blown thread in the announcement section. One will go up when an actual date for it is announced.

Real announcements are done on Twitter. Anything written with 141+ characters is info overload these days.
