Anybody else seen this?
Looks pretty awesome. Not sure about the plot though. Looks like Russia is getting into sci-fi showbiz.

Back on Reddit a month or so ago. Not BattleTech or Pacific Rim, but, least it's a bit closer to BattleTech :>
Though I hope there's no alien attack BS. if it's humanity Vs itself it'll be interesting. too many Human vs alien advanced tech.

What about post-Human vs Alien war, like Independence Day II, only good?

Russian special effects are often much better than the Michael Bay crapp we get here. Looking forward to this.

Those 'Mechs look more Hawken...like, as Hawken 'Mechs would have appeared before decades of jerry-rigged repairs.

I watched the trailer with the sound off (because @ work) so please tell me, is this a movie or a video game trailer?
I love it either way, but a fresh giant stompy robot game would be a good alternative for when MWO finally drains me dry..

Google says it is a movie. Not a game.

Not sure.
I mean, sure, Michael Bay is expensive trash.
But there has been a large fan community in russophone countries for a long time, they like cool stuff and giant robots, but lacked an animation studio for all the CGI a movie required. And the western ones were too expensive for their producers and left-over budgets.
I wonder what has changed.

Why? Because the rights to the Battletech franchise has been in license hell for years and years I imagine. The rights to the various parts have been split up and tossed to the wind. Just look at what we have now. Microsoft have the rights to video games, which they've done bugger-all With for years until they licensed it to PGI and Harebrained Schemes. Topps holds the rights to the Battletech TT game and Associated Products I believe, which they've licensed to Catalyst Game Labs. Gods only know who holds the TV rights, and those have probably been split away from Movie rights anyways and are held by someone else.
It's been a freakin' mess for years, really.
