When Is Pgi Going To Fix The Leaderboard Like They Promised Months Ago?

Back in June when Quickplay leaderboards made their debut I was excited to hear Russ tell the community that he was going to split Solo and Group Queue leaderboards.

56 minutes 30 seconds if the timestamp doesn't work

Fast forward to today. We are on Season 5 of the leaderboard and Group/Solo queue are still both under one leaderboard.

What's going on here PGI?


Also while we are talking about Leaderboards, one thing that hasn't been addressed by anyone at PGI is the fact that the leaderboards are DOMINATED by players with only 1 game. Many of the stat rankings have been rendered completely useless. For example in Season 4 my average matchscore ranking for Lights went from about 830 to about 150 when I manually removed players who hadn't played more than a handful of matches.

In the same video I linked Russ spoke about introducing prizes for seasonal leaderboard accomplishments. How are they going to do this when the only non-grindy stats are completely ruined by these 1-and-done accounts.

If you want more people to care about the leaderboard you have to make it worth caring about. Split Solo and Group Queue into two separate leaderboards like you said you were going to do "very shortly". Then create a seeding phase where players need to play a minimum amount of games before they are ranked on the leaderboard (25-30 matches).

They've got to hold some of the very best stuff back!

If fixing the Leaderboards fall under the very best stuff.... that there are going to be some disappointed people at MechCon

No, not fixing them; don't be silly. It'll be an announcement that they'll be fixed This Summer.

It's great that the cynicism isn't lost on people.

I'm sure there will be a reveal on the leaderboards in December.. a "highly touted" feature request that much be quenched!

It would be a reminder of "minimally viable" when left unfixed. It doesn't matter either way though given the situation.

Yes.

I think every single feature that is completely broken isn't just worth it, but has to be fixed. It's one thing to prioritize which features should be created or improved, but when you have entire game features simply being 100% dysfunctional, like the leaderboards right now, then you actually have to fix that.

It's not like it would take a huge amount of work to have the leaderboards rank you by your last 200 games or something, and filter out anyone with less games than that.

Ironically it was promised ages ago, when we still had ATD (Ask The Devs).

The problem was that it was developed way late (like, it was promised in 2013 or so IIRC) and underdeveloped.

Maybe MWO/PGI needs to go through puberty?

To put this into context though, we have broken "weapon stats" where some people register 0 matches a certain weapon taken, but deal X amount of damage anyways.

A company interested in Esports better have a working ranking/leaderboard system.
Of course they could have given up on Esports like they did CW, so maybe it's no longer a priority?

You need to sort out the people being PUGlords in the solo queue from the "group PUGlords" (EmP/SJR/etc.) from the group queue.

Yes. Because it's something that PGI can actually do and reliably do right, and let's face it: We're not getting major new features, so PGI may as well fix things that are broken.

Because your match results in the group queue and solo queue are wholly different, and reflect different things.

Maybe people haven't noticed, but everything having even a slight thing to do with coding is getting pushed back a lot

Reduction of Buckets
can't be that hard to scrap all factions and make it IS vs Clan code wise

Was a maybe item for months now, once nearly finished and soon ingame

New game mode assault got pushed back what 1 or 2 times now?

Quick play with dropdecks probably easier to implement since they already have everything in place
Just need to cobble it together, still some coding needed, waiting

Circle of connecting
Took forever to get fixed

Balancing, takes sometimes months to get "telemetry" as it seems


But the modelers and map makers are sure bringing out "new" stuff (well granted maps on the really slow side)
