Ouch indeed.

I expected the gameplay to be similar with a better hitbox and better speed. Well it is faster and its less a bullet magnet that the PXH... but i didnt expect the FS9 to move like a cow compared to my Phoenix Hawk.

I only got 8 or 9 match in my FS9 yesterday and i chose the Ember to limit the firepower and be more in line with the PXH. 6+JJ on a PHX and you can fly, 5+ on a FS9 and i barely make it up the trench in canyon in a short enough time. This suck but i could live with that. Its most costly to equip jj on a light too compared to a med.

What i dont want to live without in a light is the Torso Degree Speed. My PXH have over 220-240 TDS and can take shot at many different target at many degrees in a turning fight because i can actually aim at them. I struggle to keep on the same target in my 177 Torso Degree/Speed max engine FS9 and thats just wrong and the weapons are arms and torso meaning they are decoupled if we want to godfight and we lose most of the torso dps on top of hardly being able to keep up a turning fight.

We should at least be aim agile if we're not movement agile or JJ agile.

Decoupled/torso laggin weapons are bad when they are MGs. i got so much ff last night because of that. Like 7, which is 6 more than usual.

I still don't understand why PGI felt the need to nerf light mech jump jets. Light mech poptarts have never been an issue in MWO, ever. Cataphracts and Victors, yes. Even Shadow Hawks were used as poptarts, I believe. But light mech poptarts have never been an issue, ever.

Not only is it sad to see how poorly the 35 tonners can jump, but it just doesn't make any sense. You know, I actually tried the Jenner IIC variant that can equip 8 jump jets. It felt like this.

Also, it would be nice if light mechs didn't lose so much speed when using jump jets. It would be great if jumping in the middle of a brawl wasn't the equivalent of gift-wrapping your legs.

It was the dreaded Mist Lynx, Panther and Spider poptart overlords that scared Russ and crew.

I have just started the skill grind through the PXH line and after doing the basics it feels really good. It feels like a light or Cicada should, but like the OP I really noticed the difference when piloting the Firestarter.

There used to be a time where a spider would fly over an AS7 and land in his back. back then their hitbox was screwy, today doing that with back then JJ would still be suicide.

The PXH hurts at first but it gets exciting. The light hurts too but are less nervous and less exciting.

I like it so far, the 1B I put ER PPCs on and use similar to a Shadowcat to snipe with and jump snipe.

The 2 is nice too and can do something similar, but I've used it more as a flanker with the Lasers.

I'm going to do the PXH-1 as my third, though I haven't even bought it yet. I'm a bit of a lorehound and that one was the one most prevalent in the FWL.

Because PGI likes to do things across the board. Nerfing one kind of JJs, in their mind, requires the nerfing of all JJ types. They physically cannot adjust only one version without arbitrarily touching the others.

Normalization™ is the reality of MWO balancing.

During The Rescale Effort, Someone said:

Lights should be the new Mediums.

History then happened.

Yeah. For me, normalization used to be a joke that referred to when Paul arbitrarily nuked pulse lasers, back in the day. "I know nobody's using LPLs and SPLs, but we have to normalize them." Then, after a while, the joke seemed a bit dated.

Fortunately, Paul went and normalized UACs in the last patch. "I know nobody's playing the UAC5 Jagermech anymore, but... y'all know how we do. Normalize. That. Sh*t."

This sounds like the plot of "Lord of the Spreadsheets".

My favorite is the PHX-2. I love it with an XL 300, ECM, 4 MPL and 2 ML. It is a great mix of speed, maneuverability and firepower. I have another build with an XL 310, ECM, 1 LL and 3 MPL. Both are fun and effective.

Every since the rescale, some of my lights are terabad. Only really like the Cheetah, Cutefox and Locust. Jenner's, Fire starter, Wolfhound and Mist Lynx are all sitting in my bays with no hours on their fusion reactors recently. I have the Raven and its still decent but I never really took to it.
