OK now that players have tested the Viper out what have you found? Please share details, mech builds, and most of all your favorite 3 mech variants so that those who couldn't purchase them with cash can now have a better understanding about buying them with their Cbills.

Also in advance thank you for all information you share on the Vipers.

IMO, the best Viper is the SPL-boat, which you can cobble together on basically any variant. The CT Energy hardpoint of the C-variant isn't really necessary, because the Viper has plenty of hardpoints anyway. But I suppose you could put 5 SPLs in the torso and it wouldn't hurt so much to lose your arms. But regardless of how you do it, 6+ SPLs on the Viper is going to be a powerful build.

The second-best Viper is the one with SRM4s in the side torsos and 6SPL in the arms, but you need the Medusa for that. You can make a 2xSRM4 variant for C-bills, but the spread is too big when one SRM is in the RT and the other is in the LA. And the SRM arm is going to get blown off anyway.

If you have the Medusa, you could make an 11xSL variant too. For the lulz, if nothing else.

I also like a Viper with 2 MGs and 6-7 SPLs. But the asymmetry does bother me.

The A is the only one with 8/8 quirks that mean anything, so get that one and pick two others that you like the pods from.

Anything that "raises the roof" is an improvement.

Can the Viper lift?

Can the Viper carry?

The Viper makes the ACH great again!

I have an 8 smpl build on my Viper. Normally I score a kill or two but today I fired a total of 6 alpha strikes and killed 5 times. was really lucky with my timing and shot placement. the 8smpl runs very hot but if you pair it 4/4 you can run it a little cooler for a little longer.

Other builds I use are 1lpl and 5sml lasers. or swap out the lpl for an ERPPC. tried a 9 sml laser for the lolz and also have tried the 2x srm 4 torso and 4 smpl laser build which runs cooler than the 8smpl but I find spreads the lower amount of damage around a little more. Get ANY viper you want and run the build you want to try. Just remember that you can jump a loooong way.

Incorrect, second best is 5-6 ERML, third best is the ERSL boat (8-11), then maybe the SRMs and SPLs.

That said, I'd really just buy the variants that get you the best pods, with one being the C on the off chance you need the C hardpoint for a build. The Medusa could be useful but not that great since the arms fall off like a Firestarter's and it also cost real money so there is that as well.
