Video demonstrating bug.
Let me first start off by stating a fact, SRM-2's are not currently affected by ghost heat. Only SRM-4's and SRM-6's are.
Alpha striking allows me to expend around 100 rounds before getting close to shutting down from heat. The heat gain is normal and all according to the math.
Using Fire Control or even rapidly manually staggering the SRM-2's demonstrates a bug concerning heat generation with the weapon system.
Staggering shots will proceed normally with proper heat generation, then after seven shots the heat generation will exponentially increase with every shot until overheat. You can clearly see the heat level jump from 60% to 80% just from firing a single SRM-2.
If you release the trigger for a brief moment when the heat is increasing exponentially and then resume fire, the heat generation for the first seven shots after that will see a normal heat generation scale, and will not increase exponentially again until after the seventh shot.
This happens with and without Fire Control, if you fire the SRM-2's in sequence with anywhere from 0.275 seconds to 0.5 seconds either manually or automatically, the bug still occurs.
It does not occur when using the default 0.5 second chain fire in game, however, it will occur even when not using the lowest possible time between shots.
An example; with the currents skills on this particular Locust, if I wanted to continuously fire the SRM-2's with no gap between them I would need to set the time between shots to 0.275 seconds. The bug occurs at this gap. However, if I increase to time to 0.3, 0.35, 0.4 and 0.45 seconds, the bug still occurs. So you get a large firing gap between the SRM-2's and still experience a crippling heat bug. The only time it doesn't occur is when you stagger them above 0.5 seconds.
