Hey hey hey.

Just was sketching away with some of my favorite, neglected mechs, the 40 tonners of 3025. I will add to this post as I do more, but for tonight I have made concepts for the Hermes II, Clint and my personal re-design, the Cicada II. Will be adding my Vulcan re-design shortly, as well as the Assassin and Sentinel, as time permits.

Awesome work, Bishop. I particularly like the Clint, but your Whitworth is my fave of the lot.

These are all glorious! I'd love some 40 tonners in game that aren't trying to be lights but are proper light mediums. Had to severely butcher my Cicadas with STD 200 engine builds to make do for now, only one I've got working well enough so far is the 3M though.

Funny you should mention that one..... have been toying with it, nothing satisfactory yet, but I ah thinking about going along the lines of a buffed hunchback, since the other issue with the art is the weapons are in all the wrong places. Loose did some cool stuff for the old tro 3025. the 3058 tro though, IMO was pretty complete fail.

What's up with this "Cicada II" I can't find it on sarna.net. I need to know the Cicada is my favorite mech.

Homebrew. Cicada was always stupid in the TRO, twice the size and cost of a Locust. Same speed, armor and firepower. So I modded it. I always kinda liked the concept of the Cicada, even if the art execution was abyssmal, so decided to see how I could make it more useful. I also toyed with a version with srm4 s in place of the lrm5s, but overall it felt like an inferior Jenner.

Maybe a buff of some sort to the engine not needing to be as big to get it to go the same speed of sorts?
The Cicada is a sexy mech yet it sucks so much :D

As well your Cicada looks like an Owens; I'd love to see that thing get some love'n too.

no XL engines, so engine buffing ain't gonna happen. 3025 tech is much more limiting, which is, IMO, why it's more fun. Compared to the armaments of the other 40 tonners of the era, the Cicada II is pretty well armed and armored.

Your style is really progressing and your handle on perspective has steadily improved.

Simply put: you're good. Keep it up!

Can I put in a request for an Uziel? :D

I second this; with an Owens next to it?

All of those are cool. My two favorites would be the Sentinel and...

... the Assassin.

I've always like the Assassin, but the artwork never did it justice. You have just changed that. I'm all for a fast jumpy 40-tonner, kind of like a Jenner with less pew and more whoosh.

In my opinion though, it needs some protection for the knees -- even if just a "roll bar" like the Centurion has.

Can't wait to see a larger version of your Sentinel.

Hmmm. Yeah, I have trying to do something, without it looking to much the same (the best fitting one is the Spider's knee guard, but I use that concept too much)
Might tinker with the crossbar, just wanna make sure anything added doesn't look tacked on. Assassin was always one of my favorite Mediums, ever since MW2 Mercs. I could do very nasty things with that mech!

And bump for adding larger pic of Sentinel, thanks for reminding me!

Really nice concepts Bishop, would love to pilot them all, especially the Sentinel and the Whitworth
