It's just another god damn Clan BATTLEMECH, like the oversized metal fursuit that is the Kodiak.

Somehow while a clear violation of the SuperNova design philosophy (range over all, energy as second) it keeps true to the predecessor of the SVN.
Pity the ATM9 of the SVN-2 would have been real content in comparison with the boring ALRM20 and SSRM6 of the SVN-A

Ah yes, I sometimes go to Red Lobster and accidently say "I'd like one of those Supernova Alfredos please, with a side order of Snow Supernova Legs, and a Mudslide."

Name: Boiler
Paint Job: Half boiled blue king crab
Loadout: Similar to every KGC variant
Hard Points: Near identical to the KGC-000B
Someone went pretty far to make this joke.
Note the blue king crab is not only pretty common for us to eat, as red costs more, but it also has bigger claws, better for holding those AC20s.

someone argued with me in one match that it was a Omni.
I had to literally say "read the ******* sarna wiki" to make sure they understood.

To be fair, it's only, what, the second non-omni home grown Clan mech to make it into the game? If one's never played the TT, it's easy to get confused.

Oh god, i know what you mean.
I once got into such a pissing match with a guy that, for some bloody reason, decided that the Bushwacker was an IS omnimech

Bit of a stretch but amusing concept nonetheless

i think we need ammo switching for those to work. but otherwise agree, we are long overdue for new weapons.

A straight blue or red with white undercolors would have been clearer. It does have some white accents, but not really in a crab like fashion.
I don't think it's a stretch, I think it's all intentional.

While I'm not familiar with any lore-based Supernovas that the Boiler might be patterned on, I think the implication is that the Boiler is someone's attempt to take a Supernova and turn it back into a King Crab, hence the near-identical clan-equivalent loadout.
Pardon the late thread post. I got to this thread researching MWO's source for the Boiler.

(Power rating / Tonnage) x 16.2 = Max. speed. I think.
So... 58.5 kph? That can't be right...
EDIT: No, that's right. Why does that seem so low? Guess because I'm used to measuring in hexes?

Yes the Supernova is slow, if you want a faster clan assault then the Kodiak or Marauder IIC are probably your best options.
I did a basic pre-order on the Supernova so I can get the early rewards plus Boiler eventually, but I dropped more on and am expecting better results from the MAD-IIC.
