Steam don't mean jack.
In a discussion in another thread, a player mentioned that, according to Steam, World of Tanks had fewer players than MWO. Yet when a player posted the current in game players on their NA server it was over 9000, oops I meant 10,000. And that was the NA server alone.
I don't use Steam for any online PVP games.
That's only one of **two** servers in North America. They got like nine servers in Russia, I believe about two in the EU, one in Southeast Asia, one in Korea and a number in China. The ones in Russia can hit a combined peak of 800,000 simultaneous players.
World of Warships regularly hits around 13,000 to 14,000 in North America, but they also have a server in South East Asia, one in Europe, one in Russia and one in China. The one in the EU hits peaks past 20,000 and the one in Russia hits peaks past 40,000 simultaneous players online.
None of the World of Wargaming are in Steam except for the just released World of Tanks Blitz, which is the **mobile** version of the game, and which is in the 10 million to 50 million downloads bracket in Google Play, not counting the downloads in the Apple App Store.
