So, after playing with the new Terra Therma for a while, i realized something, it's just as the old Terra Therma the fights usually breaks out at the same places, like the F7, or somewhere close.

Aesthetically pleasing, but i'd rather have the old Terra Therma, or better yet they should've just expanded the old Terra Therma like with Frozen City, or integrated the old Terra Therma's volcano in the new terra therma.

Also to further prevent this usual fighting sites, mayhaps randomize drop locations. That's just my thought.

That's a problem with EVERY SINGLE MAP in the game, though.

I think they should add random drop places than the same old places.

If you look at the map, it's fundamentally the same concept as the original. Open area in the middle, with a few different paths to the center. Each path is quite far apart, so it's pretty hard to coordinate a flanking maneuver. Some of the paths are essentially bottlenecks with no room for maneuvering, like the original map.

It's a lot better than the original in many ways, but it's still a fairly typical MWO map with lots of bottlenecks, limited options and very limited room for maneuvering. Which leads to predictable, repetitive patterns.

yes and thats because of the droplocations per team, if we had more on the big maps and drops would be more rnadom there may be more different points where action happens.

look at frozen canyon the entire part with the "tunnel" and upper city isn'T used anymore sicne they added that part to the map and moved one teams spawns over that canyon.

The old vulcano is actually present, you know? Just not in the center, and only two ways to get into it.. very defensible though, but nobody ever goes there.. we all just have the standard "rush to center, shoot stuff" mentality.. :-(

Lol, i looked at the testing grounds, and there it was.

I would still prefer it if they'd just expanded. I mean looking around, the place around the volcano is shrunk xD

It's interesting, over the years, from time to time, games have resulted in battles in out-of-the-ordinary locations, and they have been fantastic. The thing is, all of the maps have multiple great locations, but everyone just runs forward until they crash into each other. Ideally, what we should do is get on the testing grounds and explore around, looking for non-standard areas to do battle with a critical eye for defense, cover and avenues of attack. Then, when a match starts on that map, take the commander position and order your team to head to that area.

Sure, some will still just run blindly, but from time to time you will get cooperation. Then, when the enemy team can't find you, you can pick a few off as they spread out to find your team.

The difference is that now, those fights happen in those places because players are creatures of habit.

Previously those fights happened there because outside of a few super oddball strats, taking control of those locations granted extreme superiority.

You don't have to fight in those places, but you do because your pug team goes there. They don't know any better.
