Just wanted to know if it was kind of bad luck that I had a few cheaters in games the last week or anyone else experience this.

For all the obvious trolls: No I did not report them as I did not record the session etc. I am also not hating just want observations.

I am not talking about "this could be cheating" events, but clear cheats.

Example:
I run around in a very very fast mech with ECM through trenches and mountains and the second I pop up I see an enemy (on each occasion the same one) looking exactly in my direction and shooting at me. I mean out of sensor range, I could not even lock him. I still took him down since he obviously was still bad (his PPC did near to no damage at that range) but it made me wonder if noobs come up with that hacks are possibly more ready available and that might raise concern.

Next one was a more competetive match and I already knew I will die, so I run in (Griffin 2N 100kph) at full speed diagonal to the enemy torso twisting as fast as the Griffin can (it is not that bad at it) and when I finally drop I get hit by 6 different enemies directly CT :) I suspect 6 people is no longer luck when it comes to that and at that speed >600m no team is that good (I watched the finals on the cup and those were worse shooters than this, and they are pretty darn good).

And I had a few incidents like that the last week.
Now I just take that as it is, I write those deaths off as my progress is still OK with a few games lost like that. But it makes me wonder about cheating in general and how common it is.

Post the videos to support. cheaters will not be banned unless you have clear video evidence of the aimbot in use for PGI to investigate. That's th only way they will know someone is doing it.

So you're saying since you are in an ecm mech... running thorough a trench.. popping up every now and then to look... at distance.. and because of this there is absolutely no way an enemy mech can see you because you are invisible and in no way can track the direction he last saw you running and be prepared to fire at you? If i saw you popping up frequently and looking and I'm pretty damn sure I would be able to track your movements... just because ecm doesn't mean it can't be seen with your eyes you know.. but yeah whatever... cheating and hacks and stuff...

So you run around an enemy mech which automatically gives your position away to the enemy team.. they all focus fire and kill you.. but yeah all six mechs were cheating and hacking and stuff.. not because you ran in clear view of an enemy and therefore lit yourself up for attack...

Your examples of cheating are dumb... play smarter.. just because you have bad luck or get yourself killed doesn't mean cheats... you must think very highly of your skills to assume no one else could have any...

These are some awesomely rich conjectures. Backed by a healthy dose of "I'm definitely better than them". 5/7 would read again.

@ OP

If you go to the lowest settings on the game you will actually have bits of terrain disappear at distance letting you see the enemy behind cover.

Maps like forest colony and canyon are that repetitive that after playing them a thousand times you will develop an instinct for where enemy mechs will be trying to peek from. There's always that chance a sniper is watching the popular peek spots for the first sign of movement.

No.

If you have experienced 'clear cheats,' then why are you describing 'happens all the time without cheats' events?

Anyway - The events you describe do not require cheats, if the players in those events are cheating they're using those cheats in the most hilariously ineffective ways possible, and if you can't provide screenshots or videos of the events you can't nor should expect anyone to take you seriously.

If you just want ashoulder to cry on while complaining though, there's a guy named Grizzly somewhere around who is probably more then willing to listen.

How can anyone truly tell if someone is cheating?

There was one time no matter where I jump jetted up in my ECM Arctic Cheetah this dude would instantly nail my center torso which made me wonder how he/she could tell exactly where I was because I kept relocating, but I can't verify for sure whether or not there was a UAV up somewhere behind me. Looked around for one but couldn't see any. No BAP nor CAP negating my ECM either.

Other than that one game I can't recall anything fishy.

As noted in replies,
the original post does not seem to describe clear cheats.

However, nevertheless, if a player suspects it enough,
one could still use the in-game report system to signal for further investigation.

[mod]It is forbidden to discuss game exploits, cheats, or hacks (and attempts thereof);
including complaints regarding such,
as this may inadvertently advertise those exploits, cheats, or hacks in question.

If you wish to identify a player for exploiting, cheating, or hacking in the game,
please use the in-game player context menu's report function
or contact moderation@mwomercs.com with any evidence and/or details you have available.

This thread is now closed.[/mod]
