Hello! I've just hit a fairly major milestone and I thought I'd let you all know. I've been recording and posting ALL my matches since about April last year and I've just posted my 1000th video.

I've been playing since closed beta and I play super-casual (a couple matches a day but on almost every day). I do ok, I guess. I'm sure I'd do much better if I practiced more, but it turns out the rest of my life takes up a lot of practice time.

When I started out, I saw that people were getting discouraged by some of the videos they were seeing. Videos of good matches, posted by good players, ruining the day of entire enemy teams. None of us normal humans can compete with that, so I decided I would post up every match, including the ones where I poke my head out in front of the entire enemy team in the first 2 minutes and get it shot off. I tend to play Lights and Mediums, so this happens more than you might think.

I figured I could show an example of someone who is getting out there having fun, learning and (hopefully) getting slowly better. I still get salty when my team does something dumb, or when I do but I like to think I'm learning from my mistakes and so I post them on the internet so you can learn from them too.

It turns out, 18 months later, that posting every single match is a gigantic pain (my Internet isn't up to streaming, otherwise I'd be doing that, believe me). So I'm going to start doing something different. I'm going to try commentating on my matches, as I play at first, then maybe doing some post-production editing. I'm going to aim for at least one a week, it doesn't seem unreasonable that I can play at least one decent match a week. I'm sure there will be some slim pickings some weeks.

My current self-made challenge is to unlock Basic skills on every IS 'mech I own. I've been working on it for ... oh probably over a year now. It doesn't help that I occasionally buy or win some new ones.

WOW thats an undertaking.. I record all my matches so I can edit for videos for youtube but its about maybe .05% of my matches go on youtube. The rest I used for projects for videos etc,,,
