Well, of course. That's because the Annihilator's look is based on the world's most majestic animal.

Ignoring the fact the MGs weren't the selling point or how they did damage. Mind you I still prefer the Piranha over the Howler, just saying.

Those MGs did perform adequately once the brawls started by mechs with exposed internals. Of course, the 12 MG Piranha doesn't even care if the armor is breached or not. It will chew through legs and backs in a matter of seconds.

12 MGs, which translates to 9.6 heatless DPS, is definitely not trolling on a fast Light such as Piranha. In fact, I am fairly certain should Piranha gets released, even comp teams will run it. EmP ran 4xMG Spider-5K to good effect.

But we already got wide and squat shaped 35 ton Adder with four missile slots--which is even better fire support.

The Adder is a box on legs, much like it's larger cousins the Spacewhale and the Whalehawk, while the Howler is not. The Piranha has exactly one build it can run, and that build is next to useless unless you are fighting another Light mech or something that has no armor. Also, 9.6 DPS doesn't mean jack**** unless you can carry the ammo to back it up, and with our fishy friend here being a 20 ton mech with tinfoil for armor, a giant engine, and more than a quarter of it's weight spent on MGs, it most certainly can't.

Will we get a bright red baboon arse dekkle for it though?

I'm not sure. You could probably Macgyver one using coloured circles.

regarding the howler: if you can put LRMs in, you can run it with SRMs. i would love a 3 SRM6 20tonner. might even beat the jenner, if you can plant engines. i also would love the Piranha. or the dasher. or the lolcust IIC. we NEED more lights for the clans.

Natasha "Holy ****" Kerensky. yeah ! Nasty rocks !

PS: Incubus & Horned Owl would also rock. but they do not free space in my drop deck.

We need new Lights certainly, and the Howler is the only 20 tonner that isn't basically a Locust reskin.

1. Fact still remains that Adder is much better fire support than the Baboon. And look at those ugly Baboon missile launchers concentrated on a single spot, begging to be taken out.

2. Once it is close enough, which is easy for a 150 kph Light can do, 9.6 DPS can chew through armor as fast as 3xCUAC5s. (3xCUAC5 DPS on a 20 ton mech!) And the Piranha can carry enough ammo for 12 MGs BTW. Clan MG costs only 0.25 ton each, which means 12 of them costs only three tons, thanks to ******** Clan tech. Also, all the MGs are located in the torsi, which means you can strip the arms, which means the Piranha can run at 150 kph while carrying heatless 9.6 DPS guns while carrying 4.5 tons of ammo, or 9000 rounds of MG ammo. And that is enough to do major damage, for a 20 ton mech.

Shieet, now I made the Piranha sound too OP. Maybe Clanners do not deserve another OP Light.

Yes, you did. Another reason I went with the mini monkey over the Trollfish is because it is nearly impossible to picture it as OP. Yes, Lurming in a Light isn't the greatest, but the Howler is better than the Adder because of size and speed and being a Battlemech.

I suppose it'd be about the same as bringing a Mist Lynx. It does have an erppc variant & a 20t splat could work.

The Piranha would be good but only if the pilot is capable of getting into range. It's still more popular and thinking about how epic 12 CMGs going off would sound makes me want it.

Not really. There is no way Baboon is better than Adder in lurming, unless it is heavily quirked. Adder has up to four missile launchers, more available weight for ammo (it is already optimized with Endo+Ferro), and already possesses more than enough speed. Light mech size doesn't mean squat for support LRM boat.

Finally, Piranha is not a troll mech, as I already pointed out in detail.

This.

The only thing the Baboon brings is it's 20 tons instead of 35.
