How about changing the aiming reticle and incoming damage location frame to a different color to differentiate between friendly fire?

Right now, your HUD shows red frame to show incoming damage from (usually) a certain direction, and the aiming reticle turns red to indicate hit landed.

However, it does not differentiate between friendly fire and enemy targets.

Propose that reticle and incoming damage indicator show blue for friendly fire (since you are always on blue team). Maintain Red for enemy targets (since enemy is always red team).

It also helps differentiate between being shot in the back by enemy pop tart in hiding/ecm and some jerk alt-tabbing back into the game... walking/being in the line of fire, etc.

I like this idea. Mostly because I have been that guy who got cored out from behind by a enemy and didn't know they were hostile because I had taken hits to the back from teammates earlier in the match...

been in plenty of situations where I wasn't sure if it was the idiot who keeps trying to use me as cover or an ecm raventart, etc. Or been suspected of TD by others when it was some speedy devil.

Overall, hopefully it will tend to reduce instances of TD and improve positioning

Edit: Besides which, I figure this ought (?) to be easy to add. The engine already tracks friendly fire dealt and taken - just asking the resulting indicator flash a different color. In the case where FF is dealt or received at the same time as enemy damage, I guess use Yellow? bright purple? Or split half blue and half red (not sure if the aiming reticle has the precision and resolution to do 'location' like lower left blue, upper right red).
