I've only been playing the game for a couple of weeks. I'm loving it by the way.

When I tried to run it today I got a message that I needed to run the patcher. I googled it and found the files I need to download on a forum post which I've done. The same forum post says there should be a gear icon on my launcher screen which I need to click in order to run the patch and play the game.

There's no gear icon on that screen. To be clear, I'm looking at the login screen from the icon I have pinned to my taskbar. Should I be looking somewhere else?

If you're running the MWO standalone client the patcher is this:



Random pic I google searched on the web, top right corner, click on the cog-icon and then "Start the MWO Repair Tool". let that do its thing following the on-screen instructions.

If you're using the steam version just verify game cache integrity over steam.

Thanks for the reply.

That's not the screen I use to log in. I just click the icon on my taskbar and a login screen comes up with a pic of an Atlas in the background. I'm not sure where to find the screen you posted.

So you got the game via Steam then and made a desktop shortcut?

I don't believe so I downloaded from the MWO website. It created the deskop icon, then I pinned it to my taskbar.

Hmm bummer, can't really recall the filenames of the standalone installation. Did you check the game's directory for anything named mwopatcher.exe or something ?

There should be a patcher.exe or something similarly named in the file directory where the game information is stored if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the help guys. I found it and the patch is installing as we speak.
