I've played with people in faction warfare who speak very highly of the LBX-10 equipped Legend Killer (hero Rifleman), especially in regards to quickly killing Clan mediums and lights.

But I was looking at quirks just a few moments ago, comparing the RFL-3N and the Legend Killer. And it seems to me that equipped with two LBX-10's, the 3N might be as good or better.

Comparing the two, the 3N would

- lose the -10% LBX spread
- lose 5% cooldown
- gain 40% velocity

I don't know, it seems like the 3N might win here.

Does anyone who's tried both want to weigh in? I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the MC's to get the Legend Killer while it's on sale. But if the 3N will perform just as well, or better, I'll save the MC's for something else.

Also, as a note, I'm really only interested in how the two perform in Faction Warfare. I don't really care about Quick Play.

On another note, I don't do XL engines, at all, ever, so if you want to suggest builds, hey, great, but I can guarantee I won't use any build with an XL engine in it. I value durability.

I run both with double LBX in my IS drop deck.

So, no RFL for you...

I don't really follow you there. I am definitely going to buy at either a RFL-3N or a Legend Killer. And then another two Rifleman variants so that I can master the chassis.

I think he is getting at the fact that If you are refusing to run an XL, that means all you are going to have -in any RFL- just the 2 LBX 4-5 tons of ammo and a std 250 or so...and nothing else. Not much firepower there, particularly in the 3N where you are slower getting shots off. As no RFL is particularly tough, if you are insistent in such a non-XL build you'd be better off in an IV-4 rather than a any RFL. The quirks in an IV-4 will keep you alive a bit longer and let you face tank if need be.
