When you drop in a private lobby with 'stock only' checked, champion mechs revert to their basic form. Look at it this way. A champion mech is simply a mech you buy that's already kitted out with a meta-build. But at it's core, it's still whatever it is. The (C) after it's name simply denotes it gives you an xp boost. But a Raven 3L (C) will simply be a Raven 3L in stock mode. It won't be a Raven 3L(C).

You actually don't have to do anything to the config as there is a new button in the private lobbies which automatically reverts your mech, temporarily, to it's stock loadout.
