Hai guys,

Whilst eagerly awaiting the release of MWO I've been trying to fill my time with some other titles to keep me occupied. At a bit of a crack at Endless Space, thought it was kinda neat so chucked up a quick review and a playthrough diary.

If anyone is kinda interested in this title, have a nosey it might help you decide.

I have it... I'd had it since it was in alpha, got the Emperor package... pretty decent game considering I'm not a fan of turn based games.

Looks very nice... can you build your custom starships?

The appereance of the ship classes are fixed (cruiser, battleship etc.) but all components can be customized.

great game, though people who are new to the genera and think Sins is a 4x might be confused...

Endless Space is more a classic 4x and a great great game. The amount of polish it had even in beta was amazing, and they just keep making it better.

Is it more of a 4x (Galactic Civilizations), or empire buildng game(Civilization)? :P

I've been very close to buying this game, just waiting for something to tip me over the edge.

@Faceless I'm not too familiar with the 4x genre but thought Sins qualified as a 4x, also a big fan of Civs 4 and 5, does ES differ from these significantly?

Sins is a 4X but it's real time rather than turn based so not the 'purest' example of the genre.

Endless Space is a lot like Civ V in its UI set up and if you know how to play that then ES will be instantly recognisable to you, just you know, all space like and stuff

Thanks for putting this up. I have been curious about ES since IGN reviewed it a few days ago, but couldn't find much information about it outside their own website. Glad to hear some other opinions and get a little more info.
