Dear Devs,
I ask that you guys look into using the Frostbite 2 Engine.
I have absolutely no delusions that this is even possible. Maybe you guys are quite far into your coding with the Unreal 3 Engine, maybe it's something else entirely, but all I ask is that you find out whether it's doable.
If you have the expertise in house to code with it and whether DICE has a reasonable rate for licensing it out, with Btech Canon and the Frostbite 2 engine, you guys would be set to dominate the mech sim scene.
When it comes to an urban warfare game, environmental destruction would be drool worthy.
If any of you guys have been playing Battlefield 3, you'll understand why I'm asking this...
thanks all.

I suspect either the Unreal 3 or Cryengine 3.

Wont happen sorry. The studio has Unreal Engine SDK license, they have a lot of experiences with this engine. It's also really well fleshed out, with lots of people who understand and know it inside out, mostly as it's the widest used engine in the industry. It don't make much business sense to throw that out the window. I don't know if DICE and EA are even going to license the engine outside of EA? I doubt it.

I'm sorry, but posts like the OP irritate me!
I can see the idea behind such suggestions/demands/whatever, but I don't get why people think this is going to make any difference...
On the one hand I don't think Devs will be so ignorant as to not see the potential of certain features, but on the other, there's more to it than what you as a player will ever know. Besides, the engine has probably already been chosen, so there's no real purpose in trying to convince them of something else.
Oh, and completely offtopic: BF3 is gameplaywise, just another ripoff of CoD, as pretty much any shooter published by EA in the past two years was...
the FB2 has something to it tho

I think another benefit to using the U3 engine would be IF, they at some point, let community content in.
Many, many, non=professionals are familiar with it, as EPIC designs their stuff for the player <3
But this is all if they do. They didn't say they would. But they didn't shoot down the idea on-sight either.
Cross your fingers!

My hope is the amazing beauty of the CryEngine 3!

I don't care what engine is used, but the environments need to be destructible. That increases the game immersion and tactics in a very unique way. It is possible without a doubt, so let's hope destructible environments is part of the plan for making this the best MW ever. Without it I am not sure this will be the 'best'. It will still be fun I am sure.

PGI is on record as saying the game will be DX9, DX10, and DX11 compatible. So destructablilty is possible. The extent of the destructability will be up to PGI.

Now wait a sec and think.... FB2 version of MechWarrior.......
I see pretty thors. But UnrealE is the target for the game, Cryeng you have MWLL, and look MekTek is making a Solaris game with the UnrealE as well. So no biggy.
In the future maybe a FB2 version.... maybe.................
