I would really love to know how many Tier 1 players admit to and actually play with a joystick. Or do all of you just mouse/keyboard it? I realize many won't admit it, but if you do, please tell me why. Are there any benefits as far as you're concerned?

Hello Yamamoto,
I'm afraid, not many. But well, I do.
I'm 1 tier, and I always play on a joystick.

I knew one guy who was Tier 1 and used a joystick, but he used it in his left hand for movement and used a mouse to shoot.

One of the best players in my unit uses a Logitech G13, and maps leg movement to the thumbstick. Does that count? =P

If I actually sat down and mapped the keys and the x/y motions I would use one for my left hand to move and works weapon slots 3-6 and do all the uav and strike crap. But I'm lazy and just use mouse and a gaming keypad.

Was not aware of joystick support

That does not count.

It's terrible. It can be made a bit less terrible if you have a high resolution stick, use macro software like Thrustmaster's TARGET or AutoHotKey, and program for mouse emulation.
But in the end, PPFLD weapons like PPCs, LB-Xs, and IS autocannons work much better than lasers. Missiles are fine too.

I know a guy. He primarily uses missiles (and has for well over the year that I've known him). Our unit has mostly been involved in CW/FP and he's consistently one of our best.
