As for the NGNGtv thing... I know it is hard to find the info... but it says on the NGNGtv twitch page that Daeron and Phil are both currently employed by Piranha Games, developers of MechWarriorOnline. And that is nothing that was added a short time ago. So that part was quite obvious... at least if you read the stuff under the video.

I started playing in September and I knew they were PGI. The twitch page is likely where I learned it from, but I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly Phil and Darren mentioned it in one of their podcasts shortly after accepting employment.

Hey Folks

I normally would not speak up on such nonsense but I just wanted to put the brakes on the IGP equals PGI ********.
I held the title of Producer for the entire time we were working IGP and at times we were at odds with each other on decisions for the product. As with most Publisher and Developer relationships you end up making compromises.

For anyone who has been with us through that transition knows how different things are now.

I will be sorely disappointed in anyone who wants to believe we were ever the "same company".
And I will be downright pissed at anyone who spreads this nonsense.

Phil and Daeron summarized a long story of how we got a publishing deal into 2 sentances. End of Story.

Matt Newman.

Thanks Matt.

I don't know why Phil used the choice of words that he did, but as Matt says it was simply words.

I don't think anyone at IGP or PGI even realized that our acronyms were each other reversed until you the community pointed it out.

One last time: Piranha had zero ownership or involvement in the management of IGP they were a completely separate publishing entity formed by an acquaintance from Vancouver. But we formed a very classic publisher / developer relationship until they decided to close their doors.

That is all.

Omg Matt, I have to moderate your posting behavior.

PGI actually posted int their own forums and responded to a thread. I must say I'm impressed.
So firstly I want to congratulate the three of you for responding. That's a step in the right direction. Thank you for gracing this thread for your presence. This is what you should be doing, on your own forums (not twitter).

I really encourage you guys to continue this behavior. Maybe with some reeling back of the moderator powers and some more dev responses I'd be inclined to start post back on here. I'm a game developer myself and I'd love to help where I can :)

The funny thing is PGI only shows up on the forum for a tin foil hat thread instead of one of the many good ideas on fixing features in the game or one of the other more meaningful topics as to balance in the game.

They showed on to stomp on misinformation about their company. Whether they decide to discuss game balance or features is a different conversation entirely. From the limited participation in the various PTS sessions, I can't say I'd worry about a thread on the subject on these forums either.

That's not really the issue. They are employees posting on these forums as Bombadil and Sean Lang. Are their names and text in employee blue? No.

Is this an attempt to blur lines so that, when convenient, the President can hold a meeting with NGNG and make it appear that he is meeting with the community? I'll let you decide.

Does it say on Twitch that they're community managers for MWO? No.

Have you seen any significant community management/engagement/interaction on this forum? No.

Have you specifically seen Bombadil and Sean Lang on these forums managing/engaging/interacting with the community? No.*

*Unless you count the roundtable, where Bombadil collected vast amounts of info, then told us the table would only be about buckets and Long Tom. And of course all of it culminated not in a reconvening of the roundtable, but instead the PGI president addressing NGNG as though they are the community and not on the payroll.

That, sir, is the issue.

I tried doing PTS multiple times. Every time I tried it turned my actual game client to useless. Then I had to uninstall the game client, then uninstall the pts client, and then had to run a windows tool to remove what apparently the uninstaller doesn't remove. All before I could then re-install the game client to play after the pts was over. Yeah happened 3 times and that is when I stopped doing PTS. Probably why a lot of others stopped as well.

Not for nothing, but you were told to put the PTS client elsewhere. I too quit using it because, when they ran full teams there weren't enough people playing to make matches, and when the shrunk the teams I just didn't think the data would be useful. I'm still trying to figure out how their WC format is different than anything they offer in game.

I installed it on a completely different file directory called MWOpts. While the original client was installed under a file directory called MWO. So yeah not the problem.

Ok, I will take the bait. And I am answering to more than one person.

1. I never said it is or was a non-issue. I just said I was aware of the IGP/PGI thing even before I became a volunteer moderator.
2. I am representing the CoC and in extension of that PGI (but only in regards to upholding the CoC) when I use mod tags or work on reports. The rest of the time I am just a normal player. Oh yes and I was a referee in the regional qualifiers. Might be shocking news... so I was representing PGI there too. From what I heared I wasn't too bad at getting problems solved and communicating at that time.
3. Yes I play since January this year. And don't forget I am not even Tier 2 atm. That might be the next point Posted Image

I guess we know why that laughable joke called energy draw made it onto the test servers in the first place then. I think Tina's title should be renamed to Community Moderator, because as far as being a Community Manager, she has failed at filling that title as badly as Niko did. Seemed like Garth was the only one who actually bothered to communicate with the player base and gather constructive feedback, rather than dumb ideas. And it's amazing that this is the only place where even the biggest of hermits that are the developers would bother to actually respond to the player base and this is the first time in a long time that it has happened. Good job PGI, you had done such a good job of being transparent and honest for about 6 months about a year and a half ago and you all slipped back into your bad habits again. It's no wonder most players don't trust you as a development team, hard to trust a team that has zero communication but keeps asking us to buy Mech Packs.

Bait? Sir, I am no troll - nor are any of us here, except that one guy but we ignored him (read; banished under a bridge). So far, yeah... I'm getting the feeling that our grievances are just being handwaved away. That's a very bad feeling to leave any customer with.

As for you, well, I hope you've enjoyed the game so far, sincerely. I started about 4-6 months before you.
