I own Kit Fox KFX-C, mastered. If I would buy second exactly same KFX-C would it be mastered too or am I supposed to unlock it completely from scratch?

If you buy another copy of a variant you have mastered, it will also be mastered (this goes for champion and special versions too).

Yeap, I loved the KDK-3 so much I bought two...then they nerfed them....

100% correct. And to further illustrate the point: Centurions were among my first mechs Mastered. Having only 3 (non-Hero) variants one of these variants was the CN9-A. After this I won a Champion version of this mech during an event. This CN9-A (C) was already Mastered on arrival. And last week I got the Special CN9-A (NCIX) Centurion with the redeem code. Once again, already Mastered.
Hmmm, I should sell that Champion CN9-A actually, free up a mechbay....

All of them will have the same "skill" unlocks as they will just be copies and the game assumes the same pilot for everything (or same technician?)
If it wasn't mastered though it wouldn't help you master it.

The nerf didn't effect them that bad,they still rock.
