It would be nice to see a couple of small changes to the game around our lance structures.
This is partially to recognize an older post that I didn't want to necro but you can read it here:

But also to give a bit more visibility to our lances and particularly when we form groups.

One of the things the match maker does is try to match by player PSR... our tiers. In a group it uses the average for all the players. It then matches with other players/groups two levels above or below (Which means tier 3 meets everything).
It would be nice to see our tiers when we look at our friends lists and see the average when we create groups. But numbers don't really give a good reflection of what the tier system really reflects... that is, our experience levels.
As such it would be nice to represent the tiers with a description tool tip that can be matched with an icon.
For example:
Tier 5: Cadet
Tier 4: Reserve
Tier 3: Regular
Tier 2: Elite
Tier 1: Veteran
A little icon could be shown next to the player names and then used in the group screen so we can see not only the total group average, but also the average for each lance. (See the link above about group creation)
Part of the reason for doing this is not only to help players sort out their groups and know the sort of opposition they will likely face, but we can also begin to look at incentives for players that may find themselves in the difficult situation of facing a more experienced opponent. A bounty system if you will.
Let's consider it a simple bonus to c-bills and/or XP from the match if you are a lower tier and manage to defeat more experienced opponents.
The next part is about the Battle Values for the mechs. There has been a lot of discussion about replacing the tonnage limits with a battle value limit. This won't work as it really just replaces one number with another number with the same minimum and maximum limitation... and really isn't any different. So... don't bother with that. However, where Battle Value can be useful is in providing another identifier that can be shown next to our mechs and averaged over the groups and lances.
We actually already have Battle Values in the game. Look at the mech summary when you are in the mech selection screen. It's not just one value, but many. The armour, the speed, the tonnage, the firepower, the heat efficiency.....add info warfare stats to that as well. All we then need is a way to take those individual scores and provide a simpler view... a description or icon.
For example, the end description for the mechs may be:
Training
Stock
Specialist
Second Line
Front Line
But, represent it with a nice little symbol with a tool tip.
Similar to the incentives for tiers, if you are piloting a mech designed for training and defeat a front line mech, booyah. Bonus c-bills and/or XP.
I don't believe these are huge changes, or overly difficult changes... but I feel it would give players more information and visibility that is worth having.
