I stopped played WOW this year, started April 2005 (I think). The reason that you keep playing that game is the people that play with in it firstly, your guild mates, your achievements together etc etc.

One of the other things that was great about the game was the 1%ers that you got, that made it easier to succeed next time.

I look at MW Online and can see lots of similarities in the way that this game is structured in a PVP sense. As mentioned in other posts, I have played this series of games since 386dx 1989, I love it, always have always will.

Apart from the game play the best thing about it, is the ability to almost completely customise your mech to suit you and your style of play. Don't get me wrong in the past bigger was most certainly better, this time around though, roles are vital and designing to suit those roles is going to be completely crucial

I would like to start preparing for this, as I am sure others would. The Mechland and the Talent Trees for pilots are key to this. Maybe they are public, I just cannot find them at all anywhere I look. Can have a look at the beta labs and trees online, so that they are not so hidden away.

I want to see if I can mount 2 AC/20's with ammo on a catapult and make it more than a support mech, I want to see if I can stack 24 small lasers on an atlas, simply to see the raw damage of an alpha strike.

I would love to see the advantages of the pilot trees over something else, which is going to suit my play style better, so that I don't waste time in game working this out immediately, I can simply crack on with the game.

So PGI, can you we them please?

Search dude. There are heaps of thread on mechlab, and some on skill trees.

BTW wanting 24 small lasers (not possible) will make you unpopular around here! :P

They are hidden away because they aren't finished yet. The game is still in the closed beta stage, so there is still a lot of room for changes to be made. You will be able to see the stuff for sure after August 7th when all Founders get access, or before that if you're lucky enough to be randomly selected.

We do know that the MechLab is pretty restricted, at least when compared to the MechLab in MechWarrior 2 and 3. The final details are still being worked out though.

I mean not possible in MWO, of course, because of hardpoint restrictions. :P

Hydrans, try this:

Devblog 4 - Role Warfare (2)
Devblog 6 - Mechlab

It's rather outdated, but this is all the info currently available to those of us outside the closed beta.

Yep, unfortunately the skills are VERY outdated from what I can tell after reading this post http://mwomercs.com/...958#entry138958

Considering the "update" was in March, the update itself was probably updated again in the meantime... :P

Don't worry I'm sure they'll do it just for you since you asked so nicely... And seriously dude? 24 small lasers?

24 lasers though would be SO PRETTY. Look at the lights dad.

Obviously you will not do this, was using it as example about things that you can do with a mech. Sorry for not pointing that out more clearly. Cheers for the links

Look up "Solaris Skunk Works" for a free mech design program. Start tinkering with builds, given that we know roughly what hardpoints each variant has. 2 AC20's in a Catapult? The -K2 has a ballistic HP in each side torso for the machine guns. But that's a lot of weight to find from somewhere. :)

Already have plans for a 2 gauss (can't stand the AC20) catapult K2 :) probably won't do it though because it doesn't have jump jets. (that i know of)

I opted for twin UAC/5s on the K2, although I have been tinkering with the idea of a dual-Gauss JagerMech.

Yeah. think I might try a 2 gauss cataphract instead.
That way I can keep the jump jets
