There's only one answer to it and it's extremely obvious.
It's the SCORPION.

I've always been a fan of chicken-leg Mechs, I'm pretty biased.

Then in no particular order, for a million reasons:
Commando
Urbanmech- all of them, but especially the R63(S). Also, best cockpit interior ever.
Adder
Panther- so much style it hurts.
Wolfhound
Centurion- best improvement over original design.
Crab
Hunchback- chunky, mean, and awesome.
Hunchback IIC
Rifleman- my pick for sexiest 'Mech before the PXH came out.
Archer
Warhammer
Black Knight
Marauder
Zeus
Atlas- but only the loyalty AS7-S; it really nails the 'as gruesome and foreboding as possible' part.
King Crab- sucker just looks mean in the best possible way.
For some reason none of the Clan heavies or assaults really reach out and grab me- not the way they did in other MW titles. Also, some of the designs that were among my favorites in past games (like the Shadow Cat, Mad Dog, and Awesome) kinda make me want to punch babies whenever I see them because they just don't feel 'right' to me. The Kodiak almost makes my list, but I just don't think it looks angry enough.

My main complaint about the Phoenix Hawk is the double laser pistol barrel situation. PGI still needs to fix that already.

As a traditionalist, my list will be very predictable:
- Timber Wolves that have at least one LRM15 or 20 in each side torso because...doh!
- All Summoners. Period.
- Novas. Since MW2 it was love at first sight.Just a cool looking mech.
- Adders. Hated how it looked in MW3, love how it looks in MWO.
- Ravens. First encountered during Ghost Bear's Legacy, a classic ECM/ECCM/sigint mech that looks good while doing it.
- Griffins. First saw these in MWO and you can tell from the advanced design that "it must be from Japan. Yea...definitely Japanese"
- Hunchback 4G and 4SP. A small mech that can punch an Assault mech in the face and look cool while doing it.
- Centurions. Admit it -- they just look intimidating! And aesthetically pleasing.
- Catapult-C1 (F). It just looks cool. Catapults always have.
- Dragons. One of House Kurita's better looking designs. Honor the Dragon!
- Thunderbolts. Who doesn't love the precursor to the Summoner?
- Maulers. How could anyone not love the mech that covered the box of MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries?!
- AS7-D (Especially the Founder's variant). Its looks have aged very well and it looks remain intimidating despite the passing of years. I hate to say this but I wish the Clans had an assault mech matching the sheer aura of the Atlas. I see Kodiaks/Dire Wolves I know to use caution but the Atlas's looks still carry that "Oh Shít!!" factor.
Many other mechs looks really nice too, don't get me wrong, but the above mechs I honestly would rather just look at than shoot at.

Don't think there's anything that comes close in terms of design. Its an icon.
for me,
1) Timby
2) King Crab
3) Atlas - The original is dog ugly, but the MWO looks cool and scary. Plus its the face of battletech.

But it goes without saying that the Warhammer is the Greatest Of All Time.

MWO's Timberwolf doesn't suit my taste. Something was lost in the transition.

I just spent the past week repainting it. That's how much I like it.

I honestly don't like the MWO Couldron Borns. They just seem way too out of proportion imho, Concept art looks great though

Wait, we're allowed to mention non-MWO mechs?
Well then, I change my mind!

Highlander is close
In all mediums The Victor, most days, but sometimes the original look of the Battle Master
Both of which are pretty bad looking in MWO

Someday in the future I hope to say the same for the Novacat!
