Group queue is unplayable for small groups in Tier 3/2 now.

I'm facing MJ12, Lords, EON, etc. Every game is a stomp.

It's just not fun.

Taking a break seems the only option... and that means no shiny coins for PGI till they fix this.

Why don't you try to get a FW match going since the good groups aren't there? :P

Heh, players leave CW after complaining about the good players being there. CW gets queues split, the teams still play but the solos are basically empty. Queues get put back together messing up the group's matches in CW. Tournament happens sucking comp players out of the normal queues almost entirely. Players get used to easy mode. Tournament ends and suddenly the top players from the tournament are in their matches now that they've finished the grind through the tiers. People still refuse to go to try out faction play or try getting good so they can compete with the comp players.

I was with a buddy running a 2 man team most of last night, we had no problems with the enemy teams, we had problems with our own teams having a lance worth of people who couldn't pull out 100 damage every other match. I managed to lose a match where I got 5 kills, 4 of them solo, because we had two guys with 0 damage and even a Kodiak with about 24, a few guys in the 100-200 range, and maybe one other guy at half my 900+ damage.

We ended up noticing which groups did absolutely terrible each time we were with them and could predict a win or loss each match. MWO could definitely use a better group system, just have it compare the average win-loss rate of each group to other groups in the queue and link them up like that so that those guys constantly losing end up not facing the perfect win rate teams who actually have aim and coordination.

Group play isn't enjoyable at all because of the MM system, somewhat comical since its an Online Game.

Make sure you take close to the correct weight for your drop every single time, and never take more than 7-9 players because of the penalized drop weight. The group players are usually doing this.

Trust me it does nobody any good to drop in 3-4 lights and mediums.

Even though I'm comp player and play for a very good team I have to agree with OP. It feels like matchmaking is turned off in group queue. I see Black Spikes and EON groups stacked in the same side against some LFG groups that has players who most likely aren't even tier 1, they end up 12-0 and not fun for anyone. I don't like farming... I want good matches as well as you and I feel that the tier system needs a total overhaul as well as matchmaking in the group queue. Peace.

There is no MM in group queue.

Yeah that is just bad luck friendo, sometimes you just can't get off Mt. Tryhard. But fixing FW wouldn't change anything, the group queue was always like this even when FW was active.

I am curious why someone who is mediocre or worse is complaining instead of taking the time to learn how to play those better than them.

NOTE not all folks are created equal. If you can not win, learn to accept defeat they won you lost and they are better than you. I have to tell myself this every day.

The only way to deal with predators is to not be prey. Sheep need to shut up or at least be be grateful for the grass and enjoy being vegetarians.

Comp players can't go back to FP because they were never really there to begin with.

But that's besides the point. FP is dead because besides the game mode being whacksauce, the farm teams pwned the pugs so hard that they left in droves and only the solos suffering to get a mechbay are the fodder for those groups now. There will never be any influx of the bulk of the player base unless at least one of those 2 things changes. (no matter how good the gameplay is I can't really see the casuals willingly get farmed day in match after match when there is solo queue tbh.)

Lol, the attitude. So the new player who wants to play with his 2-3 friends must shut up and enjoy bein vegetarian? How about displaying on every end of match screen, when they lost "learn2play N00B!" ? Do you think that would be cool?

Honestly, some folks really think that the game should cater only to them. those people have the right to enjoy the game as much as you do. Get over it.

I feel like WC really hurt group queue. So much lobby. So much burnout. There aren't enough decent groups at a time to give MM a chance so it's stuck just making 2 12s. I know we play it much less than we used to and sometimes go hours without seeing another decent group. And then, like you say, they'll end up with us. Ggmm.

Instead of waiting x number of minutes for a match to start you might experience a 'smaller' number of x minutes before it starts. It only took them two years to come up with that idea. Who knows maybe in another 2 or 3 years they might even get creative and add a quick play button to launch it. But that is just a guess since no one from PGI is communicating what the specific changes will actually be (maybe at mechcon).

Yeh I have the same experience Ugra. But I suspect its not matchmakers fault. All the good groups have gone it seems. I am happy to meet EON and LORDS, but teams like BSMC are less frequent, and some like big 228 and big AS groups seem to have dissapeared from the queues entirely.

We need more people entering group queue, not taking breaks, but I cant blame them.

edit: talking about EU hours here.

Not different in NA. We end up grouping with -D5- a lot to get a 6-8 man and it's just potato farming. Pretty dull, actually, so we do it less, so...feels like a vicious cycle. Coupled with the struggles in MRBC NA Div A, not feeling real sanguine about the comp scene.
