Friends

Huehuehue

If I did have any friends in this game you would be on them like a rabid dog. That's how guys like you roll.

I also don't mind saying this openly so others know how guys like you operate.

Ya a bit dramatic. :) The truth is even worse.

Well he is right about one thing, the head on that phoenix hawk is big, much like his ego, keep up your irrelevant points, so many people are listening.

The MechBay doesn't show mechs to the actual scale that they would be in-game. Or at least, that was what was said to us quite a while back.

Does that help? Btw, they are not to scale. Those pics. In those mech bays. Are not to scale.

OK?

Everyone saying the mechlab isn't to scale, here's a scale chart made based on the models pulled from the game showing three dimensions:

Pretty sure by this orthographic comparison, the mechlab is pretty damned close.

Cheeto height to top of head: ~12.5m
PHawk height to top of head: ~14.5m
Thud height to top of head: ~13.5m

For a second there, I thought my Centurion is about as tall as my Daishi

All forum drama aside, the Phoenix Hawk does not look like it's the right size when compared to the ACH, or most other mechs. From any angle. In game or in mechlab, the PXH is frickin huge.

The Phoenx Hawk is definitely way too big, it should be quite smaller.. Compared to the Centurion, witch is also 45 tons, it's slightly too big..

It's definitely outgunned in my opinion, and should be reduced in size some 10-15%.

Leaving the hyperbole and the most irrelevant question if mechlab is up to scale or not... aaaaand...whos the best gangstaaaaa.....aside:

-- Mechs where normalized around the prinziple of volume so the volume of a mech would be lineary increased along the rise of mass.
That means skinny/boney mechs have a large surface area due to their thin limbs.

-- Mechs with a lofty build, meaning much spaces between body parts seem to be even larger than they are supposed to be, since the enclosed spaces between their limbs do not count towards their volume.

-- Did PGI additionally effup most of the cool humanoid mechs and additionaly overpower the mostly birdlike or brutish fat clan mechs ?
Yes they did.

-- Did PGI Ignore the fact that mechs (not omnis) are mostly build around certain high density objects aka weapons so the size and volume of a mech would largely depend on the weapons a mech would carry ?
Yes they did ignore this simple fact.

-- Did PGI deliberately ignore all the existing lore stuff that says how lare wide and voluminous the different mechs are ?
(Most mechs in MWO are around 30% too large)
Yes they did.

Ok what ever. The Phoenix Hawk is massive. No way its to scale. They forgot to add the head which is as large as a Locust, or maybe they forgot the torso side pieces or something.

duinno, those legs and arms and evertyhign is surely a lot less than the 65t one.

objectivity lost.

thosebird likes are horrible as most of them allow CT shooting from many many angles unlike humanoid ones who can easily and with lower angles cover their entire torsi. and those birdlikes can't even cover ST's. Saying that was "additionaly overpower"ing them is just beyond any objectivity.

The Centurion is 50t....

The thing about the Pixi is that she has a lot of air gap between the legs, torso and arms... so turn her sideways as she is the Kate Moss of mechs....

Volume without accounting for density is an irrelevant data point. PGI clearly didn't take density into account.

Not quite. 10.5 for the Arctic Cheetah. The head is slightly above the 10-line, not the 12. I'd say your other two readings are accurate enough.

In terms of mass (volume comparison), the PHawk should look like 1 and a half Cheetahs, and the Thud should look like 1 and a half PHawks. I think they do, based on the orthographics.

3 FEET!!!

That's it. Game irrevocably BROKEN. I'm done playing forever.

Who wants my stuff?

*Yes. That was *sarcasm**.
