Do you not realize that your quote proves exactly what all the "smartasses" were saying? Mouse sensitivity is an artificial multiplier of the actual DPI, which is an actual measurement for the resolution of the sensor of Dots Per Inch not just marketing blob. It's used to change the effective DPI of the mouse and mainly was created as a positive increase due to the lack of precision on early mice (low DPI). It is completely unnecessary on a good high DPI mouse with adjustable DPI, and in fact is worse because it eliminates the actual precision of high DPI mice.

Of course you are completely wrong. Please compare driver file of your mouse and driver file for Windows(?) mouse sensitivity to check how different is DPI to sensitivity on software side. You have already pointed out that for example "DPI 400 CPI 1600" is different than "DPI 1600 CPI 400". But that's not the point of topic.

Also my original post is still unanswered, while I know that some people managed to do it with different CryEngine games, hence it's possible. I don't know if they managed to disable/bypass "Raw Input", but I know that they used OS and not mouse settings.

Sorry, but as I correclty explained in my previous post: You are mistaken. The reason nobody does this it because it's pointless and unnecessary with an adjustable on the fly mouse.
So you go ahead and keep tilting at that windmill.

Adjusting mouse sensitivity through windows is a terrible idea. Scribble something in MS paint on full sensitivity in your Windows mouse settings to see why.

There's no tilting here as we both agree that "DPI 400; CPI 1600" is different than "DPI 1600; CPI 400". As for the rest, many people do it this way and I see no point in arguing about it.

With MWO/Cryengine mouse can be adjusted at least in 3 ways - OS Sensitivity, Mouse Driver DPI and MWO Sensitivity. But as I pointed before, with "Raw Input" games - like MWO - first one, the OS adjusted setting is ignored and game uses only two other settings. All I need is a way to adjust it on the fly with keyboard button. Don't get confused, this has nothing to do with DPI switch button on your mouse.

Example? With keyboard controlled sensitivity you can set as many mouse speed levels as you want to and you are not limited to the number of keys on your mouse. With little bit of scripting like with Autohotkey you can adjust your mouse speed to be set dynamically without predefined levels, or you can set it to make 'sniper mode' when you hold button or even revmap certain weapons and sensitivity levels to single mouse button so when you hold it and shoot it slows down/speeds up. And please, do realize this is actually pretty good for people who have mouses with DPI buttons - because it lets them to remap those buttons to something more useful, like additional weapon groups.

One more thing, I am also looking for a script that would let me change mouse DPI on the fly with keyboard and not mouse buttons. I am using Logitech SetPoint here.
