So the solution is to just let the mode die ad keep it as a practice ring for comp units, until they get bored in which case who cares, its THEIR mode and they have sole claim to it? Thats some bs. I just finished a series of games were a cobled together group of pugs from various units, ran successful attack game after successfull atack game. And we even did a few games against units in defense que. And guess what? We won 90% of our matches, ad the loses came from other skilled pugs who played the game mode continuously. We didnt have to do all this crazy ****, we just needed to be unified through one voice channel, and we were a force to be recconned with. You big units forget, your good because your players ate good. All your practise has limited gains in a battlefield environment. It isnt the damn unit thats letting you win, its your skill, give yourself a little damn credit
Ok, back the heck up and chill with the attitude. I did not say or imply any of that in my post. I explained why Units do as well as they do and how our unit, EK, uses practice sessions and video's to gain a better understanding of the flow of the game mode. In no way am I implying that PUG groups or matches can't have a successful attack or defense against an organized unit. They can, they do.

And at least give pugs a little god damn respect. Seriously. It is possible to get to unit levels in fw as a pug, and if the game would support it more, youd see more players who could form a well fought out defenses, made of 12 man randos who know each other as good pilots, but maybe werent thinking of dropping because their unit wasnt on. But yall are to stuck with your numbers, and practice rounds and forget the times pugs have beaten you, yes you ek. I was playin with yall and its happened a few times, and the dc was either raged or was ok with it, but you dont consider that pugs are putting up viable defenses, and we have our regulars who know what they are doin. The pugs can be just as good as a unit in fw if its the right pugs, and im asking for an easier way to get those pugs together, and easier ways for the community to train up new mechwarriors.
PUG's get all the respect that they deserve. My comment on PUGs are limited to those that don't want to play with the group. You've seen it, I've seen it. They turn into potato bait and can have a real negative impact on the match, full PUG group or with a 6-11 man organized unit group. It really doesn't matter, potato is potato.
As for losing to a PUG group, yep EK has lost to PUG groups. There are times when we just mess it all up. No biggy, move onto the next match.

Plus, an mmo really needs a social hub, otherwise its just deathmatch que in 9 different flavors of kill, just like call of dutys multiplayer. It isnt really an immersive, mmo universe pupulated by people, and many have stated on the IS side, and this is true for me as well, its the people who keep us coming back. Some admitadly make me wanna unninstal, but the others bring me back.
/end rant.
MWO needs more than just what it has for a social hub, but really they do have faction chat, match chat and unit chat, so in that regards I think they've got it covered. Unless of course you want a general chat... which in MWO may not be the best thing for the community. That or we need to get some flame retardant chat filters going on.
Overall Nat, I think you're perspective of units is quite a bit skewed. Sure there are those out there that take the Unit Rep to the next level and push buttons, but for the most part every unit that I've been in have been pretty cool. Guys/Gals that don't want to join a unit... well it's your choice. I just find that I get a better sense of community when I'm in a group with like minded individuals that are focused on winning. In CW/FW/FP that unit is Exiled Keshik.
See you on the other side of the gun.
