People's obsession with endgame content is absurd. This game is not meant to be anymore than death match with mechs. The general apparent assumption by this community that FW was supposed to be some in depth miracle was and is naive. It provides exactly what the game was meant to provide. PvP death match. Just like QP but with a map to obsess over.

Huh?

Like a previous poster, I also entered this game late (September as well) and am largely oblivious to all the broken promises and crushed hope that the founding players went through. Having looked more closely at the details, yeah, they got a supremely raw deal.

I'm largely without salt however - I had nothing at stake. What I DO have at stake now is how the game staff is approaching a brand new year for the game as of the close of next month. The player base needs to improve in size, and the game needs to improve in scope in terms of escaping the only real successful mode of play it offers - instant pickup matches of 12 v 12 on a limited number of maps that last for up to 15 minutes.

I might obtain some salt if the company is taking money from the players to use in developing a new game rather than expand this current game we're investing in. Mechpacks are neat but it's not a solid idea in terms of grabbing more players and expanding game longevity if it's the ONLY thing that's being worked on.

Seriously, the salt levels lately are way to high....I get it PGI has hurt you in the past...the game is not this super spectacular AAA title (the one I guess we were promised?). But honestly we are at this point where every other drink we have is over salted water (the other for some is a shot of something strong)

Anyway, if the forums were a person, our blood pressure would be way off the safe scale. We need to seriously get off the high sodium foods/drinks.

I get some disappointment and venting is common, but there is no reason to get this salty ovet a game....Specially with Mechcon here in 3 to 4 days. Let's try to lower our sodium in take guys here over this holiday season?

I agree this is still a decent Mechwarrior game. In terms of the gameplay - how the mechs move and shoot, it is one of the best, by virtue of more modern modeling and animation capabilities. There are some gameplay issues that should be fixed, but they are rather small tweaks in the grand scheme.

Where the game lacks is in the overall Mechwarrior experience. There's just not enough depth in a simple arena deathmatch game. It has followed the likes of most modern FPS games where that is all there is to it. To be fair, those games like Call of Duty have been very successful. But, if we had something more along the lines of MW2: Mercs, this game would be a AAA title, easily. MW2: Mercs is still the best MW game hands down because of all the detail they put into the non-combat parts of the game. I spent a lot of time in the mech lab, reading the news feeds, looking around at all the different mission descriptions, and just enjoying the scenery. Nostalgia? Sure, there's some of that coloring my vision - "I 'member MW2: Mercs! Yeah I love 'membering MW2: Mercs!" - but the goal of game developers should be progress. Take what was good and improve on it, leave the bad behind.

As for the salt levels here, yeah they are pretty severe. I enjoy the bickering for what it is and realize that this is only a small fraction of the game's population who speak the loudest. If you really are so bitter about the game, do what I did and leave it for something else. I have been having an insanely fun time in DCS and now I'm into Prepared3D with the Superbug. It's led to me learning a heck of a lot about BFM, aerodynamics principles, and general cool aviation stuff. I consider that a victory in a game. If it makes me learn and want to keep playing, it's a good game. Come back here when you want to read fun arguments about something that no longer pulls on your emotions. I'm much happier now than when I was arguing left and right about every aspect of MWO, and I still have my account ready in case something interesting comes to pass and I want to boot it back up again.

You obviously chose the first option because you're here getting mad at people who have legitimate reasons to disagree with the state of the game.

I'm getting angry at the fact nothing is happening. Nothing is. Not the people, but their actions.

Option 3. Say repeatedly that you are going to leave/stop posting, tell other people they should leave/stop posting, but never actually leave or stop posting. You've had at least 2 "farewell MWO" threads, but here you are. Still here, still posting, still telling other players to leave.

https://mwomercs.com...ser=Scout+Derek

Season 5. Take a look. Then to other seasons.

And do you have proof that's what I said? Last thread was this:

So I came back to see this NCIX promotion mech. Redeemed it, but haven't still logged into the game yet.

Vacation is a thing, yes, but for what exactly? Work? yeah, I do that when I play MWO. Rather, I would consider it a time away from it.

I don't know. I may just give up on it for awhile, maybe about half a year when something actual worthwhile. Meanwhile I'll be playing other games with weekly updates, worthwhile people to play with (not that some of you aren't, but let's just say that in other games you meet more people instead of playing just one), and worthwhile Devs that know what they're doing, that listen to players, and communicate with them openly instead of other sources and such.

Anyways blah blah future is war, haha pgi pls add actual content, and I'll see you all another day, I hope you still playing actually find something worthwhile to laugh at or enjoy with what is in this game.

I said I'd stop playing. Not stop coming to the forums. Try harder next time to slam me, Please you two.

You are still here though. Continued posting after you "chose" #2 comes across as rather salty don't you think, or maybe just bitter?Posted Image

Look above. If I was really salty, there'd be a third thread.

Gotta love people who claim that this is the best mechwarrior game on the market ... considering it is the only mechwarrior game on the market. Kinda hard to argue that.

DAMN SO MUCH SALT....

.... Did someone find my imgur gallery or something? People are posting almost solely stuff in my gallery recently, and it's freaking me out.

Anyways, I'll be salty as much as I want, thank you very much. I'm going to keep being salty until PGI openly talks about why it dropped all of the goals they gave us that disappeared into the ether, actually communicates with us about what they're working on, and they catch up with the rest of the gaming community and gives us colorblind support. Because, y'know, every time they change the minimap or "update" maps to become darker or with more muddled colors, I see less and less. I'd also appreciate the game not running like hot garbage because of poor optimization. Oh, and **** your "E-Sports". E-Sports aren't immersive or fitting in the BT universe, and I hate seeing resources wasted on it. If they took the time and effort to make it out to be the yearly Solaris championships? Then I'd actually welcome it, and pay attention to the whole thing. But this WC garbage is just them jumping onto the E-Sports big-money train, and I despise it.

TL;DR: Me

We went past salt and into Bitrex flavor months ago. I recommend a mass exodus to other games for a weekend or two. I'm playing Stellaris, the Terran Mandate will make the Milky Way great again. Current faction goal is build a wall of defensive station on my coreward border and make the Sirian Ascendancy pay for it. They're trying to sneak cheap robot labor in to replace my hardworking pops.

Now excuse me, I've got a colony with some divergent ethos pops I need to purge.

Or Mitchell&Webb could be popular.

I really should make a decent quality version of that gif one of these days, though.

I have enough salt to last me maybe 4 requirkenings. In PGI terms, that may be another year or two.

Mind you, the salt availability is endless. PGI mines it for me!

For the record, any dev company could do what PGI has done to date... sell mechpacks and just a shell of a game. Wow... it's just enough to be minimally viable.

Most of us are not salty just wounded and beat.
I've played Battletech since 1984, back in the board and map days.
Hundred of models painted and probably thousands of games.
Every novel, article or scenario book are in my collection.
Hell even my sons and grandson knows how to play.
Imagine my elation at the announcement of MWO and the obtaining of a closed beta key.
Playing thru all the good stuff and the bad.
Of late mainly bad, not terrible, but bad.
Maybe bad is the wrong word think mediocre.
I still play everyday, but the excitement has all but been sucked away from this game.
This game could be so much more and rival the best out there.
But for now it's firmly entrenched in the land of mediocrity.
Yeah not salty just beaten down.

Arena team deathmatch game with avatar monetization.

Same as WorldOfTanks, WorldOfWarships, Overwatch, etc etc etc etc etc

No PVE, No depth, No salt. Just facts.

Best MWO game? Nope.

Isnt the Viggen trailer by Leatherneck the hottest thing you ever saw? I need to learn to fly still but i refuse to buy the dcs modules outside of steam and that seriously hamper my enthusiasms.
