Today I had my first tie, I did not even know that that could happen in this game, and the player who said that it canhappen, was impressed when I told him I played beta and did not know it.

A Tie can happen. I may have seen one perhaps a half a dozen times. They don't happen often.

I had a tie maybe 2 weeks ago.
In the end game we had an arctic cheetah with one leg. A shadowcat with one leg. And a hunchback with both legs and some damage.
There was a single enemy kodiak-3 in the basement.
We could see the kodiak in the basement on seismic sensor. All 3 of our mechs were standing right above him in top center.
The kodiak didn't know two of our mechs only had one leg so he stayed in basement and waited for time to run out.
Our hunchback lost patience and ran into the basement to try and finish off the kodiak by himself. He died without doing any damage.
We waited like 4 or 5 minutes with nothing changing.
Finally when it got below the 1 minute mark the kodiak exited the basement through one of the side entrances.
He exchanged shots with our one legged shadowcat and killed it.
But our one legged arctic cheetah hopped onto the platform above top center with its jump jets and managed to live long enough for us to get a draw.
(No I'm not making this up, this really happened)
Result - tie.

Good stories, in my case I was a spectator, and the last player of my team was an Ebon Jag, or something, and managed to defeat one of the two remaining enemie mech, but the Comando did not want to fight and hid, and we finished In a tie

I can recall a tie happening 2 or 3 times these past 3 years of playing, often happened because of people hiding instead of going out in a blaze.
