It's easy to get something like this
Spoiler

or this
Spoiler

when you're behind firing lines.

But when you're only a 50 ton Mech doing more damage than...
Spoiler

and surviving the match, still looking for more action with my paper doll looking like...
Spoiler

The satisfaction is enough to convince me why I should keep playing as a brawler in my Centurions than cower behind firing lines.

What's does your "satisfaction" look like in MWO?

Edit: Looks like I can't spell. Guess that title is something that's gonna be sticking with me for a while

I'm satisfied as long as there are 3 or more threads on the first page where OP shares his ***** over cherry picked scoreboards. Carry on.

Use the full editor and you can edit the thread title. Just fyi.

Edit: oh, and to answer the question: not dying by the end of a win is all I need to be satisfied.

Getting that face you've been feasting after

Whether planned, or out of the blue

Spoiler

That third one, while being derptastic, was satisfying. Cent took my leg, so I took his face

I guess 1400 damage, 8 kills is also satisfying...but faces are rarer than those.
Managed to get 68 in the past four days, though. Viper does everything I want it to, and late at night, when the valves open wide, there is poor heat management and positioning every couple matches.

A few recent matches spring to mind as having been especially satisfying:

I gave old Terra Therma a proper send-off with my Griffin....

Spoiler

After the last patch, I wanted to see how badly the Nova had been nerfed....

Spoiler

Okay, maybe that last one was a fluke, since the entire enemy team gave me their backs....

Hitting what I shoot at generally works for me.

Similarly, not losing missile lock just as I press the button to fire my LRMs...

If I ever teach photoshop, I will make an extra credit project involving online games and screenshots. This would be a very useful intro in how to influence folks in a online digital world.

It's worth saying 'gg' when the match ends like that.
I'm not fond of it when people say it when the match was a pure 12:1 steamroll, even if I am on the winning team.
The matches that end with 12:11 are the best though. Those are really intense at the end.

Also, what I find satisfying is when I manage to cripple a KDK, wether I survive or not.
Or well, anything I survive is satisfying, because ending up with only a few limbs left at the end of a match gives that "holy crap!" vibe.

I get where the OP is coming from.

I spend 90% of my time in IS mediums, mainly playing second-line fire support, or bodyguard duty for the assaults. Crabs, Blackjacks, Shadow Hawks, etc. It's really easy to be consistent when you're rarely the biggest target on sight. I think it's a useful role as focusing fire with the fatties and you cover their back -- but it's also lacklustre, as you're by definition playing the second fiddle.

Now sometimes I jump into brawler mediums like Wolverines. I often die embarassingly and quickly, but occasionally time and place my pushes just right, and manage to put in some of the biggest damage numbers I ever get. It's feast-or-famine, high-risk playstyle but also quite exhilarating.
