No one who has spend 200 or more or has limited time investment like founders/phoenix/clan invasion would do that. If you want a real hard core mode use this: UM-R60 Gozer the Gozeran

Upside of the hardcore mode? None. But that's why it's hardcore.

Hardcore people don't do hardcore things for rewards. That's pansy mode. Hardcore people do hardcore things because... it's hardcore.

I usually play any games in an "ironman" or similar mode, where applicable. But I would certainly not do it in an online game where others don't do the same, and where I have real-€ premium content on the line.

You mean after spending hundreds of dollars you would not like some F2P with no investment to get a lucky shot, headshot you and have your account deleted?

Makes one wonder if the OP spent anything and is willing to loose it all himself....

I have about 200 dollars worth. That's why I use that figure. But I know there are some whales that spend upward of thousands of dollars on a F2P game. So I guess I'm just a small fry?

I would totally spend 20 hours on each alt account to get a chance to snipe out proton, fantastic tuesday, b33f, shivaxi, blackhawk sc, any of the Lord/EMP/Kcom/Evil guys, and other misc celebrities.

(I'll leave snuggle alone though, he's clool)

Haha no, I think if they ever did a hardcore mode it would be where there's no Tier matchmaking, just weight or class matching. Also, they could play around with repair and rearm costs there.

And I've only got 6x-7x more invested in this game than your $200, and I'm not going to flush that down the toilet (well, other than investing it in the first place... ).

And there's true "whales" out there that have far more invested than that, which have pretty much funded the game so far.

That's right, HARDCOREEEEEEEEEE.

Let's put it another way. This is about as close to roleplay in real life as possible. I mean, a lot of people on this forum cares about lore and roleplaying "real" mechwarriors right? Doesn't get more real than this.

Now, I am not saying you should automatically just go out there and be headshotted. If you max head armor, you can survive double gauss in the face. And when your face turn cherry red, you can always eject.

Or, unless you like to live on the edge like me... I never carry more than double digit head armor (unless I have extra .1 or .2 ton to fill).

Living hardcore and living reckless is totally different. You can totally be hardcore and careful as a cat. Let's get those distinction right.
