I'm starting to see a trend here that PGI is doing. Remember the last patch that we had were Clan Large Pulse Lasers were just recently nerfed in range? Now with the announcement of the Roughneck mech, take a look at it's load out configuration.

Notice the single head mounted laser and the high weapon mounts? Also the fact that it's a 65 tonner heavy mech? Sounds like they are going to add the Rifleman IIC in the next few months ™. Here are some comparison images of the two mechs side by side (bottom two being the Reseen then the Unseen).

Since they will most likely go with the reseen design, how many people will actually be willing to buy the Rifleman IIC if PGI decided to release it in March? Will your wallets remain closed due to the recent clan large pulse laser range nerfs? Would you rather wait until they implement energy draw 2.0 down the road to see how it performs? Wait until it was released for c-bills? Or are your wallets forever closed now due to the fear that PGI might release clan made-up chases?

Zero. Russ already confirmed that January's mech is a Light.

Well, since the Roughneck is IS, I should hope that January's mech is a Clan Light. We do direly need some of those.

It's probably going to be the Firemoth. I would much rather have the Locust IIC in all fairness, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Firemoth return from MW2. PGI already confirmed that I won't be buying whatever it is in January since I rarely ever play lights.

I'm failing to see how you drew any relationship between the Roughneck, the cLPL nerf, and the potential for a Rifleman IIC being in the game.

The last thread he made was titled "Let's Get Hyped For Iic Mechs! - Why Another Iic Mech Pack Should Be In The Game."

I think it's fair to say that his metaphorical 'mech *****' is what he's drawing with.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

Damn you caught me at my own game. In all reality I just want to buy more IIC mechs from classic MW2 since the release of the Marauder IIC. Apparently there is some roadblock going on with Russ's "ideas for good mechs" and what most players actually want from PGI. Perhaps I'm just going mad because I keep thinking that this game is supposed to be canonical WHEN IN REALITY IS ISN'T.







(I feel really bad for you Mad Cat Mk.ii fanboys since your mech will most likely never be released at this point in time.)

I would be fine with the firemoth. It has been on my list of wants a long time but I had given up hope on it since it is so fast it would be game breaking, according to many people.

Hey man, don't feel bad. We all have our Holy Grail and priorities, and there's nothing wrong with yours.

Hell, my own personal preferences are heavily rooted in my nostalgia picks, and pretty much all of them would add nothing to the game, and most of them are widely considered a waste of a mech. It's all cool.
