I do not understand this really.
If they keep it as a Private Map, How can it be Competitive?
Will we still need at least one player to have Premium time?

More Info please.

This lack of Info really only hurts the game.

Anyone know where more info is please?

It's being released in the private lobby so that people can play around with it while PGI sorts out a more formal mode, if people like it.

Honestly, the whole thing seems dumb to me. Maybe combined with stock mode it makes sense, but 1v1, on a known map, with full mechlab? All Alpha, little heat management. That's all there is.

Does the 1v1 need both players having premium time, or only one?

1v1 is pretty brutal and fun, we had a good time with our 1v1 tournament a couple years ago. Torso twisting and using the environment are also huge factors.

imho 1v1, then 2v2 and so on is the only direction for MWO.

If they do this right I can see MWO going on and on after WM5 and beyond.

This world loves competitive matches and I can easily imagine a future for MWO in the world of E-Sports even if it is a small niche market.

But Will we still need Premium time? This would be a bucket of water on it for me.

For the 1v1 map you should need both players (or spectators... at least 2 people) with premium time.

I hope they get the other testmaps done soon. And after that the Solaris mode... would be really nice.

This single map is not Solaris. It is one arena (was it Steiner 1v1?) and I hope for more to come in that direction.
