There's still time to fix those values between now and February. So keep your knickers on, and see how it goes.

Yes. I just realized that they demoed those values to pull a joke on the negative playerbase. Well played sirs, welll played.

Everything is going to be all right...

Wait potatoes aren't much better but unlike potatoes they don't cry about balance, not winning, and the ai is always there to play a game unlike you CW purists. Why aren't you playing CW? Don't say it's not fun. It was fun enough to farm all the potatoes into quitting.

The question for me isn't weather what was said made me unhappy. The real question is was it enough to make me come back.

Is it sad my general test for this is:
Q: Is Ghost Heat still in the game?
A: Oh, well screw it then.

Bonus question: How has PGI not learned in this long to vary the ROF times on weapons? This many years and they still think infighting guns and sniping weapons should have the same ROF and never understood that'd fixed their dynamic from day 1.

Oh well. I will say a kind word to be fair, and that's that the UI has vastly improved, and so has the game in SOME ways. It's still being held back by the things that made me stop playing seriously but it's drastically closer to what it was supposed to be now. A large reason I was hoping MW5 was a fresh start situation and not just a campaign game that, apparently, is costing this game development resources.

Hard for me to believe anything will bring this game back from the dead. I know on an average day, we have approx. 300 members, yet rarely see more than 5-10 playing anymore- and NOBODY is playing FW anymore. MM is dead, because there aren't enough people to even make a match, much less balance the teams.
The game play in QP is so stale, it makes last years bread seem fresh- unless you like playing the same 2-4 maps over and over and over and over and over and over. And FW, well unless they can balance the mechs somehow.... not happening. This is PGI's own fault, balance isn't their strong point.

https://mwomercs.com...-roadmap-beyond

"All past Module purchases will be refunded to you in whole, and all GXP and 'Mech XP spent on Skill or Module unlocks will be carried over as 'Legacy GXP', to be used at-will for unlocking new nodes in the revamped Skill Tree system for any variant."

That sounds like a 1:1 refund to me.

The question is. How much xp/time will it take to get a mech back to its current "elited" power level. Or whatever ends up being the "optimal" performance level, when considering time invested.
If that grind is more than a month, then I'm probably done.

I left EVE for the same reason. If the only end-game is to have fun by being better than everyone else, on the basis of time invested, then i will be looking for another game. Again.

1st I will say this, "I HATE CHANGE!!!!!!!"

2ND I SAY " I thrive through change."

Success is a choice

Difficulty is my mistress

Forests from 1st Tree

Now that I am done with that......

A better game cannot happen without change. Some changes create more strife then others. Usually the more dramatic the improvement the more turmoil and anxiety but not always.
Will this improve the game???

Hard to say.

For some it defiantly will drive them to buy more mechs. "You mean I can buy one mech instead of 3 to customize and level to the highest pilot and mech level? Oh yeah!!!"
I may sell mechs and have extra mech bays available to buy chassis I have not been willing to attempt because of the grind, or I might just level up the 3 to 5 the best build for the different roles without restrictions to set quirks. I create the quirks.

For others it might not be so good. Learning a new system takes time, many people don't have that.

Also to the questions of xp costs and and c-bill cost we will have to wait and see, BUT, we can participate in the process.

When I was Listening to what Russ was saying the other night about the Trees I started getting mad. "What?!!?? I can never get back the time in xp and c-bills I have put into current system!!!"

Then Russ Said, " You will get back every c-bill and XP you have put into the current system." (plodder paraphrase)

I thought about that as I sighed, knowing I was not losing anything but "HOW" I had done it before. Dang I Hate Change!!!

I have about 180 mechs with varying degrees of master elite and basic leveled in each group or chassis. The ones I run have such a large amount of XP not being used, I will Level up them the day it changes. Hopefully I will apart of the testing client to have input and understand the process before live date. I might even work out that I will use refunded GXP to unlock Trees to mechs I have not taken the time to unlock due to my perception of them being dubious mechs to begin with.

Will the new system NERF some mechs? I would guess so. Would some get a boost Same thing I would venture the same guess. There will be some nasty dirty builds Tree quirked we will hate to face and love to pilot. Some of the nasty dirty buils now may not be as fearsome due to that, but the joy is in striving to pursue the higher stratus of excellence.

I love building mechs for me. I am not an Elite player in any way. I am Average at best. I build to Hide My weaknesses and compliment my strengths. I have to make sound better mechs than Elite pilots. Elite pilots add on top of there strengths when they build because the have little or no weakness to consider when building.

This system if it shakes out could be a boom for average players like me and Elite players(real gamers). I think this will help and encourage the new player. They can acquire 1 mech, play it till it is at the top of it's class to their play style/weapons without having to grind for days or weeks Like many of us did when it was easier. Have you tried playing as a new player with no money, it is intimidating and very tough.

Anyway, I am grudgingly interested in embracing this new change, though I do know I will hate it when I have to go through it.
