Based on past conversation on the topic with PGI, the quick play maps are added in there with all alternate objectives from Skirmish to Conquest to the new Escort mission. So you could be facing IS/Clan on Terra Therma in Domination mode with a 4 mech drop deck, for a match.

It was said however that once you get close or beyond the Flipping point for a planet, then the matches switch to the CW maps with the Attackers being the winning side with gates closed and Omega as objectives + gens.

All sounds good to me.

I would hope this is different. Else you'll see people drop off that do not want to play certain map / mode styles (i.e. CW maps on invasion).

I was hoping it would be more based around playing a few QP maps, then a CW map and repeat for say evey 10% or 20% on the ToW scale. This way it would feel more like a campaign towards achieving goals of taking down the planetary defenses for the assaulters or the defense of their planet for the defenders.

just pretend that war stategy in the 31st century encurages leaving the massive guns in place until the final push. or pretend the guns base is the last stronghold of every planet because of the turrets and indestructablew walls letting it stand till the end.

boom roleplay is still an option.
