So we already know that factions will be merged into Inner Sphere and Clans,
but I think that they shouldn't be dropped completely as they add quite a bit of flavour.

You could still let players choose a house or clan within the new factions that grant a bonus quirk.

Being allied with Steiner, for example, could grant you increased armour while Kurita loyalists could benefit from a small speed boost.
