An idea to modify how missiles target and add a benefit for having a targeting computer with missiles. (Obviously it would mean adding IS's targeting computers which they should have.)

The primary means of targeting, that we have now, would be unchanged.

HOWEVER, if you have a targeting computer, once you have a lock you can then hold your crosshair over a specific part of said locked mech. You would get some sort of indicator that your targeting computer is working on a solution. Doing so sufficiently would highlight the part and would keep for a few seconds or for however long you can keep the crosshair hitting that part before it loses lock.

When you have this highlighted part, your missiles home in on that part depending on how good of a targeting computer you have.

- Encourages getting line of sight locks
- Very finicky and requires either distance or a lot of face tanking.
- Difficult to do snapshots with
- Requires a tonnage and space investment for the computer.
- Does not feature removal standard locking
