Cry3 doesn't support VR. It does however support 3D.

Well Unreal 4, which will be used for MW Mercs 5, does support VR and i'm pretty sure it has been said that they're planning on having it.
However, unless they decide to port MWO to Unreal 4, i don't think VR is happening. Ever.

There are a few threads about vr and how to do hacks or work arounds so it sort-of-but-not-really fakes vr. I think it was titled along the lines of "those who have vr/getting vr post here"

VR on the current MWO won't ever happen. The engine can't do it without some major reworks and even if they would archive it, you need to hold 90 fps constantly and even my GTX 1080 and my i7 6700k can't do this. Keeping in mind that VR needs even more ressources and that the picture, without proper super sampling, looks blurry und text is hard to read, then you've got your answer.
Playing Mechwarrior on my Vive would be a dream come true but currently its nothing more than that: A dream.
(Yes, there is VorpX, but it's pretty much sh*t)
However, with MW5 on the horizon with Unreal 4, I will take Russ seriously this time with their plans to make it VR compatible.

I don't see VR being too good for MW, seeing as there's poor vision and unless they go full Vive support, you'll be using a keyboard anyhow.
If they do go for full Vive controller support, involving virtual joysticks and many buttons, some people would be happy.

Let's be clear here regarding VR. There are two main experiences in VR. Room scale and stationary. MW is certainly a stationary experience. Which means mouse and keyboard are fine for this as it certainly would be head tracked. Vive and Rift touch controllers don't have enough buttons on them to play this game and making them in game buttons would be way to complicated for most people and they would for go that.
Yes, Unreal4 supports VR.
Notes:
I have a vive, rift, and ps4 VR. I am a game developer.
