I've been quickly reminded of how AMS is pretty much non-functional versus SRM missiles types. Ever since the cooldown has been decreased; a lot of medium and light mechs will struggle when facing a constant barrage of Streak SRMs.

AMS *needs* to be useful, especially against incoming Streak SRMs. There is very little defense against such a high amount of damage. Light and Medium mechs do need some pity when facing a very unbalanced close-quarters situation, the only defense for them, is to avoid such a battle altogether.

I've witnessed the ineffectiveness of AMS myself. Out of 2000 AMS ammo; the AMS barely fired any shots and I was destroyed while still attempting to delay my own death. I had about 1988 ammo left over.

I consider that highly unacceptable performance, especially considering that the engagement lasted for more than 10 seconds.
