With The "rule Of Three Gone"...

Personally, and for my friends breaking the rule of three means I can buy a hero when it looks good at 50% off sales, and never have to worry about mechbays to master mechs. It's a huge boon to freemium players.
I do think that people dumping money on mech packs should be rewarded though, the XP bonus would be in effect at injection, and would allow them to lvl up faster AND respec easier, as they can cbill wipe SPs and get them back faster (not as fast as MC, adjust as needed with %gain). That first win of the day + premium would be YUGE and deservedly so - they are paying for it.
I think it's a good bonus in pay to not grind, and is still achievable for free players eventually, if they buy more bays and slots.

Though Russ was also asking people if they had enough mechs, so maybe there is a massive change to their business model incoming.

If you Tweet it to Russ and Paul there's a chance they may become aware of it, and even adopt it.

Sounds like another grind to me, I don't need any more grind in my game.
Rule of three was terrible and they should feel bad. I will likely be selling a LOT of mechs in the future when I finally run out of room. Wish I wouldn't have had to burn the cBills in the first place though, maybe they could make mechs sell for more than whatever super low percentage they're at now.
I doubt they're going to give us Bonus anything let alone bonus XP. Doing the players a solid is never in the cards for this company.

Before this change, mech packs offered a good value because they provided you with the three variants you needed to master a chassis. Since the rule of 3 is going away, mech packs will lose some of their appeal. PGI has an incentive to give bonuses for owning more variants to make mech packs more attractive.

dude how many FTP games have you played? This game is the ONLY one i have that i basically had the exact same access totally free as people that spent money, The only thing money gives you is decrease in grind.. outside of very few cases in heroes, which are typically no better or worse than any other mech. Any other game i have played has had lots of stuff that you can never access with out spending some kind of money.
Online games cost money, making games cost money.. This by far is the least amount of money i have ever spent playing an online game... If that isn't doing players a solid, i have no clue what is...

Funny, this is the MOST amount of money - by far - that I have ever spent playing an online game. Like, 20X more. Its why I get so passionate about the pace of development and design decisions.
I agree that PGI has generally done a good job of making it NOT pay to win. I do notice with alarm that some recent Hero designs (eg Black Widow) have been the best variant, which suggests PGI may be backing off a little from its previous high standards in this area.

Xetelian , I understand how you feel, but I haven't reached that level of salt yet. Objectively, didn't they offer the Tourney suppotree XP% modifier for almost a whole year across all packages(or did I get that wrong?), and the first win is out there too. I've got two hero Centurions and a BJ2 that says they aren't the most greedy devs. Maybe they aren't doing us a solid, but I can meet them halfway at semi-firm

With only a few rare instances, almost all of the hero mechs have been the worst variant of the chassis. Other than the Black Widow, Bounty Hunter, and maybe the Hellslinger almost every other Hero mech was a ******* trashfire of time wasted. There may have been some acceptable builds, but most of the times the hero mechs are not great. And for the most part outside of the Oxide seeing a resurgence, the only other decent hero mechs was the Misery, Pirates Bane and the Heavy Metal. I dont have a problem with Hero mechs actually being useful, just as long as the base models aren't relegated to uselessness. Which hasnt been the case and still isnt the case. Almost every single variant of the Marauder is great, most of the Warhammer variants are decent. Even the Kodiak's Hero was a mighty "meh" and the KDK-3 was hands down the best variant, and that tells you something. Even most of the clan heroes that were just released dont seem to be big game changers either.
