Charger.

Technically, it's a light mech for House Steiner.

If Pgi did that it'd be epicly hilarious. #triggeredlights

I hope it's the pirahna not only because the clan's need a 20 tonner but it offers a unique play style.

As for peoples fear of it's MGs post buff being a problem here is some data from testing grounds.
Rear CT attack least CoF so about 40m with 6 MGs about 10-12 secs for heavies and 14-20 for assault kills. So with 12 MGs in the case of the pirahna it'll be 5-6 secs for heavies and 7-10 secs for assaults with a additional 1-2 secs reduction after MG buff probaly.
Another consideration is MG ammo consumption. With 6 MGs a single ton of ammo is consumed in about 30 secs. So 12 MG's is only 15secs of fire time per ton.

From what I gather the pirahna only comes with 1 ton of MG ammo stock. more then likely most people will downgrade the two medium lasers to smalls to get a extra ton of ammo. That's only 30 secs of fire time then your dry. So unless your really lucky and manage to get really close right behind a stationary target your just wasting valuable ammo. As another test shown where it took about 2 tons of MG ammo to kill a atlas in the front CT at 115m.

Man. This post made me realize that this little guy is going to have to have at least, if not more than, 6 tons dedicated to ammo on a 20 ton omnimech. Ouch.

A Javelin would be the most likely mech to get me to blow my non-existent spending money. A Mongoose would be a close second. Anything else I'll almost certainly have the self control to save my money for more important things.

We're in line for a Clan mech I guess.

Which... not to be greedy, but the last light (over a year ago) was a Clan light as well.

So hopefully it's followed up soon by an IS light.

Still and all, Pirahna sounds good to me! I'd prefer Firemoth or Fire Falcon, but I'm down for the MG monster.

I'd prefer something a bit more obscure, such as the Howler or the Commando IIC.

Well, considering the license is until 2018, we'll get a Clan light next month probably and then one last IS light before the plug gets pulled (or license gets renewed). Posted Image

One correction, it's a battlemech and the MGs are torso mounted so you could strip the arms.

Oh, it is? I thought it was an omnimech. Well then I suppose I could also go with a smaller engine if it doesn't make me too slow, if that's the case.

PGI will go with one that's guaranteed to sell like gangbusters, so it'll be the Locust IIC or Fire Falcon.

Don't say its name! I don't even like clans and I'd buy the Fire Falcon.

I hope its wasp/stinger, I really want 20 ton IS mech with jjs. Piranha is nice, but it lacks jump jets and relies on machine guns too much, and PGI apprantly is still sore from the times of machin gun spiders.
I hope it is not locust IIC, since it would probably make IS counter part redundant, especially with all the perks going away.

Meh, not sure if I'd want a runty, underfed Stormcrow as a Light. I'd much prefer something a bit more fun and unique, like the Howler or the Trollmando IIC.

It's a fun design but it'd be pretty bad in Mwo and the gun would get shrunk.

That'll cause self-esteem issues for sure.

lol, new light in january.

that means...july '17? august? and then 4 months more vor MC/CBill release? How long is the mech production queue these days?

I know that mech packs are needed and all, but these preorder wait times are really killing it. A month or two between announcement and release would be ok imho, but waiting half a year or more kills every bit of excitement for a new mech.
