Okay, so, I'm sure a lot of people are really happy about these MG buffs, but there's one specific thing that has got me excited. The mist Lynx A has a 25% boosted MG RoF.

Mist Lynx A lore build 2 OP. I'm legitimately going to go rebuy mine and run it when this patch drops just because I can.

For those of you that haven't seen the patch notes yet, these are the MG buffs.

Why not just increase the damage to 1.0?

What a bunch of nerds.

@Pjwned: They already explained that in the notes. The spread as it is now made them an ultra close range weapon. By tightening it, they extended the engagement window.

So that last 0.05 dmg would have pushed them over the edge and made them OP? :)

I haven't checked over the PDF for specific numbers, but thank MechaJesus that someone not named Paul Inouye is balancing the game.

Will be interesting to see if it has any effect on their viability.

I do see a problem that the weren't good weapons on the mechs that had RoF quirks either, so if the damage boost and quirk removals cancel out they might still suck unless the spread reduction turns out to be a big deal.

If they do not announce the FireMoth next month then I am just going to give up a get a Mist Lynx. The increased armor and machine gun changes may make them more useful. Now, that we will not have to have 3 of them, I think I can risk springing for one.

One mec that still has its MG ROF bonus of 20% is the Viper-?. Iam super happy to have my best viper improved even more and bring much more havoc to the backlines of the enemy. Posted Image
But i would have liked to have its arms buffed a little Posted Image

Hold on. You're... excited about MG RoF quirks? When I went to bed last night did I teleport to an alternate dimension where PGI did something right with MGs and thus quirks associated with them look appealing? What's new? We have the Lorax as President of the US?

All I can say is this. If you run your mechs with stripped armor on the legs, you would be wise to fix that. Otherwise, don't be surprised when some light comes and chews them off.

Might be time to finish leveling my LCT-1V(P) during the MAD-IIC leaderboard next weekend.

Don't get too excited anything with mg quirks had its quirks reduced to leave the overall ROF mostly unchanged (with a couple of exceptions [none of which were my mg mechs :( ]). The spread reduction is nice though.

The Viper-C is going to be sick. It was already my best variant. Heatsink buff, mg spread and dps buff. Kiss your legs goodbye.

Well, we do have someone with the same general color as the Lorax as President now. Posted Image

Anyways, I personally don't get why they didn't just go for 1 DPS, but, at least they did something. And the Piranha better be on its way soon.

The funny thing is, if (and thats a big if) the Piranha gets put in the game (I hope it doesnt but you never know), it will single handedly get MGs nerfed to the ground. They are in a good spot right now, why change that??

A 20 ton light mech that can only properly mount a single weapon system for its one lore variant, and only has 1 ton of ammo stock getting an entire weapon system nerfed? Considering we never see Paul ingame any more, I don't see that as being likely.

Oh yeah!

And yeah, sure we dont have infantry to shred apart with the supposed weapons against them (mg) so glad to see the MG getting improved. If not against infantry, then again against mechs internals and a bit okayish against mech armor. Get close though.
Im actually thinking of combining MG's and Flamers now, seriously!

Burn and tear!
