I hated the heat system in MW3, it was terrible.

S7 Heat system is not terrible - it is beautiful - if the right person at the right position in the company would have realized that we could have lots of good stuff instead of "tweaks" on Ghost Heat or the "development" of Energy Draw

At least when it comes to immersion. Note I havent actually played MW3 only MW4. Though i've seen mw3 lets plays and it seems the mechs are more impactful, more effects when damaged.
However what I do NOT want to see in MW5 is power creep in equipment and mech class revelance. Yes I know MW5 wont have that problem like in MW4 where the hunt for clan mechs and equipment + weapons were the thing (I play IS only for a challenge, doing just fine really).
I want MW5 were all mech weight classes, weapons and other equipment have their place. Pros on cons.

That's going to come down to the AI. Past MW had you going up against numbers so you had no choice but to play Mech-Pokemon and grab the mech with the most guns as soon as you can. A smarter enemy AI means you can make the game more challenging without simply throwing more enemies at you.

The second option, if you can't make a smart enemy AI (we have all played escort) Is to reward you for sticking with one mech vs buy the next shiny toy like in every other MW game.

Believe that was the original intent of the Mech Skill tree when it was first talked about in the earliest days of the BETA. Instead of spending money on Mech Pokemon, you spent it making your Shadow Hawk, Locust or whatever a better mech as you level up. That idea has gotten muddied in MWO as so many are invested in the Tier System AKA Mech Pokemon MKII, the grind fest continues but MW5 is a clean slat to implement a better reward system that hopefully will make one blooded Shadow Hawk worth keeping in later campaigns.

I prefer MW to have tankier mechs. MW3 was paper thin, and whilst that may work in turn based tabletop it simply turns everyone into glass cannons in reality unless heat is so high that you basically make fire-rate a pointless statistic. Then Gauss will be god.

Remember that in all likelihood, MW5 will need an online element.
