Support Towers

Each map contains an array of capturable Support Towers. At the start of an Escort match all of these Support Towers are under control of the Defending team

To capture a Support Tower a 'Mech must stand within its capture radius (30m by default).

When captured, a Support Tower will perform both of the following Support functions for your team:

• ECM (200m radius around the Tower by default)

• Radar (200m radius around the Tower by default)

The towers have the old ECM radius. Given that the towers have 15 hit points, they should be easy to take out, but Im still curious to see how this works out.

Good thing, too. If they had the smaller radius, they'd be much less useful. At least the shorter ranged mech mounted module is mobile and of course aslways protects the bearer.

I'm wondering though if Escort will be extremely hard for the defenders. After all, a bum rush that legs the atlas basically wins you the game. Do it early enough and you win even if 100% of the attackers are destroyed.

I'm surprised about that. I assumed the defenders would win if the attackers where destroyed, even if it'd take a long time to get the VIP to the dropship.

I still imagine legging the VIP will be the go-to strategy, as once he's legged the defenders are practically immobile.
