Just came out of a QP match. All the while, I thought I was driving a Griffin - a really slow one for some reason.

Didn't realize until the end game stats that I was actually in a KTO-GB.

So I did 655 damage while driving the wrong mech. Top that! Posted Image

I got 7 kills in a viper and then I realized it wasn't an assault mech carry.

Few days ago I was doing great in my Adder Prime, getting kills left and right, and taking almost no damage from return fire. I was starting to wonder if somehow the Adder has broken hitboxes or something. Then I realize as the match ends "Wait... Why am I looking down at that Raven beside me?" I was in my Linebacker. Posted Image Never used any of my LRMs, SRMs, or SLas.

Confusing a Viper for an assault would take a few beers. Posted Image

I was surprised. I've started matches thinking I was driving one thing only to realize it was another mech. But I went the whole game ignorant on this one.

Lol. Good one, Restoslll

I want to play as Kodiak 3, then in early screen game I'm confuse why I'm in a lance full of Lights. Then I realize that I riding CN9-AH instead of Kodiak 3. Remind myself that somtimes it's awkward when playing in late night when you starting too sleepy.

I just did a FW match with the wrong deck. Match started I was looking at the cockpit of a extremely short range cheetah instead of my Ebon Jag. The rest of the deck was also terrible for the map. That feeling....

I haven't had that, but I recently had a weird keyboard clitch, where my 'mech was stuck on full throttle the entire game. That is, the 'mech woudn't stop but behaved as in I had W pressed down.

I could only stay with my team by walking in circles or walking against a wall. Everyone thought I was on drugs. So not the wrong 'mech, but a totally weird playing experience.

I did manage to do about 300 damage and survived the game.

(I believe this happened because I accidentally hit a Win10 keyboard combo that switches between national keyboard layouts, making the controls go haywire.)

I forget I changed to a different build sometimes.

You look like a complete noob when you fire SRMs at a target 800m away.

Got a comment ingame: "finally someone hwo knows to handle LRMs right..." I didnt even understand that i was meant until i realized that i was shooting LRMs at around 200-250m...LRM brawling at its best :D

Reminds me of when I was in my Mad Dog Prime, and I had just gotten into a perfect position to alpha strike an enemy in the rear with my lasers, so I tried to fire. Nothing. Tried 2 more times, still nothing. Then I look down and realize "Oh, wait, this is my Mad Dog C. Gauss rifles." By that point the target and a buddy of his had noticed me, and come over to teach me a lesson. It didn't go well for me.

I usually realize I'm in the wrong Mech a minute or two in when first open up weapons on an enemy...

I should probably stop holding resentment against the spawn-zone-weapon-tester-pilots and just join the club to be safe.

It's the absolute *worst* when you're in your PPC Nova, you make first contact with the enemy, fire both your PPCs, and immediately shutdown because you actually just fired 12 lasers and now you're probably going to cook your internals and die with zero damage.

Or when you're in a gauss mech and you start pre-charging your gauss rifles as you round a corner with zen-like concentration on the point and timing where you usually spot the first enemy and SPWISSHHH immediately out comes a volley of SRMs scaring the bejeebus out of you, making you shriek aloud and needing to explain your outburst to unitmates in Teamspeak.

Good times.

I was DC'ing for a 12 man last week and had to go AFK, came back to see we had a drop on Sulforous Rift and we 40 seconds. Quickly grabbed my headset and called for Light 'Mechs to do a rush and take out some enemy tonnage.......

Then as the timer hits zero and I finally get my headset back on properly I realise it's a DEFENCE match, the gates are shut with us inside the base and everyone in TS is laughing their head off at me #mistakesweremade. To my teams credit, they followed the call and we made the best of it, lost the defence with 1 second on the clock. Oh-so-close.

When I was leveling my Atlaii, I accidentally dropped in my D-DC even though I hadn't finished building it yet. That was an... interesting match. Me in my 2xML STD300 SHS Atlas. The Reds must have been laughing their asses off, but my teammates didn't think it was funny for some reason.

Well, usually when I discover I launched in the wrong mech, the darn matchmaker won't let me go back and swap it, so yeah,. I end up in it for the whole match........

(Sure is annoying when Trying to get LRM locks on annoying Jennies when I close...only to finally realize I'm in my Spirit Bear, not my Mad Dog........ but it's sure a relief to finally realize why my mech felt so sluggish!)

A lot of my mechs are the default colors with no decals for attempted camouflage. I've more than once ran an rvn-h,rvn-4x or different variant of a mech instead of the one I wanted only to go wth when I see my weapons and loadout as the match starts. Only the mechs I use often and like get renamed with a new nick name.

As a light pilot the first thing I have to do when I switch to another class is tell myself "This is not my normal light mech! Play smarter!" Even when I have a fast med or heavy at 70-80kph it still seems like the mech isn't moving so I turn on the fps counter to make sure my pc hasn't lock up on me.

I have popped the Windows keys off my keyboard to avoid that problem entirely. Too easy to hit when its between th ALT and CNTRL keys.

was piloting my mad dog and was tinkering in the mechbay before i got distracted irl with irl stuff. came back, pressed the qp button and got a match.

i started the game thinking "wait. is there something wrong with my resolution?" cos the POV looked warped. didn't make much of it, mashed 'w', WHOOSHED off like a gunshot and scared the bejesus out of myself.

turned out i forgot i was tinkering with my locust in the garage after playing with my mad dog. the POV thing was because the mech is just so short everything looks different.
