Not in Invasion after the first wave, or any of the other game modes where IS might try to close the distance and brawl. My post was only from the position of Community Warfare, doing my best to ignore Quick Play meta as I don't think that's really a problem. Mad Dogs loaded with SRMs are incredibly strong against already damaged mechs... which they're going to come up against in game types that feature drop decks.

and yet theres still beter choices for those "damaged" mechs to deal with.

Such as? I'm trying not to clog up this thread with one conversation, but the lack of information you're presenting makes it hard to have a cohesive argument. I'm explaining the preponderance of SRM toting Mad Dogs that I have experienced in Community Warfare this cycle. On the Clan side I've seen Timberwolves, Mad Dogs, Night Gyrs (perhaps less than you'd expect because they're still MC only) in every game. On wide open maps like Polar Highlands I've seen Hellbringers. Maybe twice I've seen an Ebon Jaguar. Not once have I seen an Orion IIC or Summoner.
