So what do I mean by a mech map? Well a simple road map for the next mechs coming up down the road here. Not asking for literally spilling the beans on what exact chassis is coming no. Something like this. . .

Quote

Announcements
January - Clan Light Mech Pack (to be released in May)
February - IS Assault Mech Pack (to be released in June)
March - Clan Assault Mech Pack (to be released in July)
April - IS Light Pack (to be released in August)
May - ....
June -....

We also are looking at added some "features" to be implemented into the mech lab and mech construction with the addition of up coming chassis releases. "

Even if only at 4 to 5 months at a time it would be nice, and I have a feeling would help build some trust with PGI and us players. It would help us feel there is a better sense of planning and allow us to be vocal over any forseeable issues.Aka, if demand for lights is high and they are saying nope 4 more Heavy and medium mechs, we could say ummm could you consider changing that to atleast 1 light mech in the next 4 months? Since this is not a set in stone map like most road maps things are subject to change.

This also prevents the whole OMG my mech didn't get it aka if you were demanding a heavy mech but road map said light mech, you won't have the high hopes of the usual mystery mech releases we get. Thus less backlash from some angry players.

Thoughts?

They already release mech details way too early, and pre-orders are early as well. I think we've got enough.

Remember, hype is like heroin - A little bit is already too much. A lot of it will definitely cause an overdose.

Mechs are announced 6 month before release which is enough IMO.
You want an even further-down-the-road announcement?
Dont we have any more pressing issues.. like new skill system which has been announced one month ago an since then no f*ing additional word of how PGI will f... ehm... implement it?

Just awaiting the announcement for the Longbow, or Blood Kite. All others are beneath my notice.

Honestly, I wish they'd cut it out and only announce mechs when they're actually released, or at least the month of.

It would be nice to have an email or newsletter or a huge ad on the side of the main site with a list of mech type for pre-order and a release date of other mech class types. Guess I'm just going to wait two more years until I find out about a new light mech then wait six more months to c-bill it. At least trials change every few years more than we get new light mechs.
